It's Almost the Finals (5/16)
Here we go guys -- three left! Oh, and left the ass-licking of Clive begin.
Clive picks Open Arms for Elliot. Well that was a non-event.
Katherine -- I Believe I Can Fly -- ugh, I'm not looking foward to this. OK, it's not so bad as I imagined, but I still hate her.
And for Taylor, Clive picks Dancing In The Dark -- this should be good if he's on his game. Good for Taylor, light fun, appealing.
Paula chooses What You Won't Do For Love for Elliot. Must confess I don't think I know this one, but here goes. Ok, I do know this song. He's really good, but seriously there's no spark for me with him -- I really want to like him, really I do, but I just can't find that connection.
Simon picks Somewhere Over the Rainbow for Katherine?!?!?! Are you fucking kidding me? Ugh -- I hate to say it was so good, but it was. Still, I can't like her.
Randy's pick for Taylor -- You Are So Beautiful -- OK Taylor, this is what I've been waiting all season to hear from you -- please do it! Yes yes yes yes - that was finally it.
Last of the night. Elliot picks Ray Charles, I Believe To My Soul. Again, s'ok, wish I could connect with him more. I have a feeling he's going this week.
Katherine picks I Ain't Got Nothin But The Blues -- another obscure pick. And not all that good.
And finally, Taylor sings. Try A Little Tenderness. Yes. Yes. This has to be good. Yes, he so nailed this.

A Tearful Paris
Has anyone else noticed that Paris has cried every single week on elimination night except when Mandisa got the boot? Theories on this?

The Chris/Live Controversy
So how are we all feeling about Chris' alleged failure to credit Live for the arrangement of Walk the Line he sang this week? I am in the "it must have gotten cut out of his pre-song interview" camp, seeing as how he was so forthright about the Chili Peppers the week before.
March 08, 2006
Hi all! No idea where anyone is, so I'm starting a post here. Missed last night live, can't wait for tonite!
First up, Gedeon -- doing what he does best, Motown. When A Man Loves A Woman. I love this song, and he's good, but not doing it justice.
Next up, Chris. OK I don't know this song (Broken), but god damn his voice rocks.
Kevin singing a ballad?! *Gasp* I can't imagine that. *Cough* Starry Night. Yowtch. Ok guys, it's time for this kid to go home. The cute geek thing has run its course.
OK why does no one just come out and tell this kid he's the king of geeks and needs to stop deluding himself?? Really.
Bucky (Pothead) on now. Something country. Gotta admit he sounds pretty good to me, something Kenny Rogers about his voice tonite. Not bad.
Next up Will (AKA Bobby Brady). Singing James Taylor - How Sweet It Is. One word for this performance: BORING.
And now that I have your attention -- will everyone just notice how Paula breaks out the massive cleavage on the Boys nights and not the Girls nights. We can only hope she puts it away for the coed nights.
Taylor coming up. Takin It To The Streets. I have a really good feeling about this one. Considering he could pass for Michael McDonald, well, that's 1/2 the battle.
Here's the thing. His voice is INSANE, his gestures creep me a bit. But his voice is INSANE. This peformance might be one of the best ever on AI. And I'm not a Taylor fan. Or I wasn't.
Here comes Elliot - the ugly savant -- singing Bryan Adams? Ack that's a risk.
Is it just me or is this an affirmatively BAD performance? It's like he's not really there. And it is a horrific song to boot. OK Simon agrees. It wasn't just me.
Last but not least, Ace. Michale Jackson. Oh no.
I honestly didn't think he was capable of a sucky performance this early on. I was wrong. And get that stupid hat off.

Voting Night 2
Michele's taking the night off to do real person important things, or so she says, so here I am live for the show. And heeeeeeere we go!
Oh great, another group number. Ho-hum.
Why haven't I learned to not watch these live and just fast foward through this recap crap on the DVR???
So there's Carrie with her boobs sticking out all over the place. She actually sounds like she's still kinda normal. Let's hear the song now.
Sorry, can't get into the Christian pop genre. Wonder what Simon would have to say about this.
Kinnik first in the bottom three. And yay! Brenna!!!! Rounded out with Heather. Way to go America. Reasonably good job.
OMG I could NOT be happier that Brenna got the LOWEST number of votes. What a hideous bitch.
Bye bye Heather. Can't really rejoice, she looks sweet enough. More batteries for me though! Goats? She's going home to goats? Yeeesh.
OK here come the guys....
OK, Sway in the bottom 3, no surprise there. What's with asking them to guess, that's just mean. David next, that's two of my choices. I've never been this on. Kevin, shocker. Wow. OK, let's get going Seacrest.
Kinda sad to see David go, liked his voice. Ah, well, more batteries.
Jeez. Paula's whacked tonite.
Last but not least.....Sway........a perfect score for me & Michele. All bow at our greatness of prediction!
Week 2 Picks
You can see them all in the table to the right. Gotta just say it was difficult picking on the boys' side this week. Other than Sway, can't see who I think would be clearly gone. I know many will say Gedeon, but I'm really growing fond of him. Tanya, I can't see Kevin going so early, he's gonna get the geek vote like the red haired kid from a few seasons back. Ah well, there we go.

Elimination Predictions - 2/23
Stevie & Heather
Sway (WTF was that?????) & Bobby (Oy vey, the last thing we need is another Scott Savol).
Bring on the batteries!
P.S. Anyone else think Kinnik looks like a black version of Angelina Joilie?
P.P.S. Wow, why did I really like Gedeon??? Tanya don't kill me!

Idol + Springer = YES!
Sabrina really did look like she belongs on Springer. And I should know, I watch several hours of Springer a day.
OK doesn't Paula have enough contestant scandal issues that she shouldn't be slow dancing with them on screen? And, um, threesoming? Um....jeez.

And Now...The End Is Near
I gotta say, last week I thought Bo had it in the bag. The crap-ass songs the producers picked that totally favored Carrie and Simon was droolingly smitten with her, Carrie managed to make a pretty good showing. Enough that I'm nervous. Nervous for my Bo. You know I'm picking Bo. I've been picking Bo ever since I wasn't picking Bo. And before that I was picking Bo as well. Until I wasn't, and then I was.
Ok sorry, I was having a weird John Kerry moment.
In sum: BO!
May 18, 2005
This is getting really hard. They were all pretty good last night. I mean, not BO good, only Bo was BO BO BO good.
That said, I'm going with Carrie for tonite. I think the show needs a "shocker" in order for people to tune in next week other than to see Bo wipe the floor with whoever is left.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
May 11, 2005
We're Almost To The End!
Actually, I shouldn't be so happy, I mean, when it's over, I'll have nothing to do until next year.
Anyhow, tonite we'll be saying so long to Vonzell. I wish it weren't so. Truly. I wish that Federov were going, I just don't think it will happen -- the damn judges LIKED his whiny ass this week, he doesn't get voted off when they hate him, he ain't going now.
May 04, 2005
Just Under The Wire Tonite
Sorry I'm late. Not that this will be any kindof earth-shattering news here.
Bottom 2 - Anthony and Vonzell - Anthony goes.
I really think those vote for the worst fuckers are going to succeed in keeping Ugly Ghetto Scott around till the very end, just to god damn torture our eyes and ears with the sheer offensiveness of the attitudinally challenged ass-faced mo-fo.
But I'm not bitter or anything.
April 27, 2005
Aiiiight Now, Let's Keep It REAL
I'm at my parents house in good ol FLA, and I had to physically kick my dad off of his own computer in order to post my predictions for this evening. That must mean this is important. Or something.
I have to admit I missed Carrie last night, I was too busy watching the monster truck freestyle finals with my nephew. I suspect that was a better use of my time. Go Gravedigger!!!! Oh wait, wrong subject, sorry.
OK, AI, right. Um, if there is any justice in the world the bottom three will be be Scott, Anthony and Constantine the Smarmy. There is, however, no justice in the world and the majority of AI voters just don't, well, have very good taste.
For real prediction: bottom three Scott, Anthony, Vonzell. Sayonara Anthony.
April 20, 2005
America, Please, Give Me A B-Day Present
Today's my birthday. There is nothing I want more for my birthday than to see Ugly Ghetto Scott up on stage singing his big ugly face off after getting the big boot. But will it really happen? Um...yes, I think this is finally the week.
Bottom three: Carrie (she really wasn't good this week), Scott, Vonzell (shame on you America!).
April 13, 2005
Prediction Time Already?
Look, I've been sick for days, I haven't slept in 36 hours, pretty much everyone except Carrie and Vonzell sucked last night....what do you want from me? Oh, right, predictions. Let's make this fast.
Unfortunately, Scott's not going. Saved by Hall & Oates. Stupid really, what were they going to say when Seacrest asked them how he was "hey, he sucked!!!" Of course not. Lameass attempt to bolster his fake-ghetto ass. For the love of all things holy, please stop voting for him. Alas, I know you're not listening to me.
Bottom three: Nadia, Anthony, Anwar. In a shocking twist of events, Nadia goes. Doesnt' matter if I'm wrong this week, I'm too weak and sick for batteries.
April 07, 2005
America, You Got Some 'Splainin To Do
Who are you people that keep voting for that untalented wife beater? Lets hear from you, right here, right now. What the fuck are you all thinking? Is it that you want him to win because he's ugly like you? Or are you just tone deaf?
Come on Scottie voters, I dare you.
April 06, 2005
Say Sayonara Scott Savol
I hate to make the same prediction two weeks in a row, and certainly would HATE to be wrong two weeks in a row, but, well, I have to do it. Scottie the wife beater is going.
Bottom three: Scott, Nadia (sad but true), Nikko.
P.S. after reading my fellow Idol Tonguers predictions: Federov has indeed over played the poor sick immigrant card, but probably not to the poor sick immigrant population.
March 30, 2005
Don't Let The Door...
It's that time again.
First, who I want/wish/hope/pray will go: Constantine. Last night put me over the top in my hatred for that smarmy fake.
Second, Vonzell. Wow. Who'd have thunk.
Finally: bu-bye Scottie. I can't take another single week of you.
P.S. Forgot my bottom three pick: Scott, Jessica, Anthony
March 24, 2005
Who'll Bite The Dust Tonite?
Well it's clear to me that the bottom three will be Mikalah, Scott and Anthony. But which of those will be going? I'm tempted to pick Mikalah based on the rumor (?) I heard that she would have been leaving before the redo. Then again, hers was one of the screwed up numbers posted. At least if I remember correctly. I didn't bother watching last night other than the initial 10 minutes, so maybe I'm at a disadvantage.
Anyway, OK, um, I'm picking Anthony. Let the batteries fall where they may.
March 17, 2005
Well Isn't That Special
Seems "personal reasons" is a euphamism for cheating. In case you haven't heard, Mario's gotten himself a posse o lackeys and is off to see the Wizard. Apparently, already having an album out, which is against the rules, didn't stop him from playing the entire AI system.
I hope teenie-boppers are smart enough to punish him for this. Then he can find himself on Celebrity Boxing in a year or two, facing off against Justin Guarini.

Who's The First Too Say Bu-Bye? Recap and Prediction
Man, I was really bummed about Anwar last night. He really wasn't as good as he's been. Bad bad song choice. Nadia and Bo were IT though.
Anyway, on to the business at hand. Who's the first to leave the top 12? Hmmmmmm....this is getting harder.
Nikko is the obvious choice. He should be going, but I think he's going to do a George Huff and stick around for a while. I'm want to pick Scott. I've picked him before and been wrong, and I think how much longer can that hillbilly looking gangsa wannabe really stick around? But I closed my eyes while he was singing last night and he really sounded great if you don't have to look at him. Radio-worthy certainly.
OK, OK, I'm picking.....Lindsey. Let the batteries roll!
March 09, 2005
Round Three Elimination Predictions
Well, it's down to the final 12 after tonite. Who's going? Unfortunately who I think will be going and who I want to go are two totally separate issues.
Who I WANT to go:
Anthony (yes, he started as my favorite, but now I'm not impressed)
Who I THINK will go (AKA, my actual predictions):
Janay (there is no god if she's still around after tonite)
Vonzell (should be Amanda, but won't be)
Scott (come one, he can't speak English and face it, he's UGLY)
Anthony (unless the Clay contingent really came out in force)
I use too many parentheses.
March 08, 2005
I'm Coming Out Of The Closet
Michele emailed me an MP3 of Anwar's performance last night. I tell you, Wonderful World is one of my all time all time favorite songs. Who would have thought I could like it more?!
I was so tearing up last night while he was singing it. Listening to it again today, well, I got chills I tell ya, CHILLS. And teary eyed. Again. This guy just has to win. Even if he doesn't, he's so going places. I've never bought an Idol album, but if he makes one, I'll be first in line. FIRST in line.
OK, make fun of me, I'm a big ol sap.
March 02, 2005
Round Two Elimination Prediction
Better get this done early today. Michele was so mad at me last week! I have to say, the girls were less than stellar as a group last night, and most of them outright sucked, which will make this difficult. At least they cut the show time down to 1/2 hour. It was so tedious last week.
Girls: Janay and Lindsey
Guys: Travis and David
Bring on the free batteries!
February 24, 2005
It Had To Be Paris Hilton
I've accidentally stumbled upon what could well be the source of Paula's mysterious and ugly sleeve that's not really thing. And wouldn't you know it, it's Paris Hilton. See? Course Paris seems to at be wearing matching bizarre sleeves that aren't really sleeves.
I really hope doesn't catch on.
February 23, 2005
Round One Elimination Predictions
I better make this quick, it's almost showtime!
Who gets the axe?
Guys: Scott & Jared
Girls: Celena and Lindsey
Off to see who everyone else predicts.
February 21, 2005
Fashion Police Calling Paula
Sweetie, what the fuck were you wearing tonite? Is the one fake-sleeve business the next Jacksonesq weirdness? And that cape/not really a cape dealie. What is that? Some pseudo superhero halloween costume?
Get a new stylist, dearie. And lay off the weed while getting dressed.
I'm picking without reading anyone else's picks, just in case.
Favorites: Anthony Federov and Nadia Turner
Will go farther than she should: Mikalah Gordon
Never should have been there in the first place: Bo Bice
Just want to lose: Constantine Maroulis
Will lose based solely on looks: Scott Savol
OK. Don't hate me. ;)

It's Not About The William Hungs
I know the early stages of the show are a lot about showcasing the losers, but it's just gone way too far this season. Mary. The plethora of attempts to feature the weirdest of the worst tonite. These people seem fake, affected, in a sub rosa competition to be the next William Hung. Our local news tonite was flashing "evaulating the worst of the worst, who will be the next William Hung" as a lead story. I was too sick to tune in for it.
Not to put too fine a point on the campy fun that is AI, but isn't this about finding GOOD people? The prior season's pre-Hollywood shows seemed at least as focused on the good, if not more so. Now it's this forced freak show trying to replicate the popularity of one guy that's equally admired and reviled. That kind of spontaneous thing can't be replicated, and replicating it is certainly not what AI is supposed to be about.
I, for one, can't wait until this fake crap is over and we can get into the real competition.
