Final Two

By Michele

Yea, I keep forgetting to do this, so I'm doing it early tonight.

May Katherine come down with a case of laryngitis sometime in the next fifteen minutes.

Comments

Sorry Michele. Kat's going to win. Do you really think they'd let Taylor win this? I'm a conspiracy nut. Kat will sell more pop cd's and thus, Kat will win. A ton of mysterious text votes will carry the day...

Posted by: Chris at May 23, 2006 08:00 PM

Better yet, may she have a severe attack of diarrhea. AND laryngitis.

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:00 PM

BETH!!!!! YOU'RE BACK! We've missed you!

Posted by: Chris at May 23, 2006 08:00 PM

Hey Chris, you gave me a guilty conscience for not being here the last two weeks. ;-)

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:01 PM

I've been busy trying to keep up TWO blogs full-time for the last two weeks! Blah!

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:01 PM

Didn't mean to guilt ya. I chimed in on your KisP thread last week! Good to hear from ya.

Posted by: Chris at May 23, 2006 08:02 PM

Dammit, go Taylor!

Posted by: Jaquandor at May 23, 2006 08:06 PM

An Idol blog called High Lord Dave had a little tidbit that the reverse order of performers on "3 to go" day wound up being the order of finish every Idol season. So if it stands, then Elliot would be in 3rd (he was), Kat will be second and Taylor would be first.

Posted by: Chris at May 23, 2006 08:07 PM

Anyone else besides me really lookking forward to Pirates 2? As much as I am X3.

Posted by: Chris at May 23, 2006 08:08 PM

Oh God....didn't she already do this? ICK!!!!

Posted by: Tammy at May 23, 2006 08:10 PM

Yup, Pirates 2, X3 (finally seeing some decent reviews -- I was nervous for a while), and the Superman flick.

Oh, Katherine's singing. Didn't like this song the first time she did it, don't like it much now.

Posted by: Jaquandor at May 23, 2006 08:11 PM

She DID, and I hated it just as much now as I did then. BLAH!

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:12 PM

Yeah Tammy. They each do 2 redo's from prior weeks. Her next will be over the rainbow. Then they get one new song. Taylor was supposed to be doing Levon and one other from last week.

Posted by: Chris at May 23, 2006 08:12 PM

Haha bitch, Simon doesn't love it.

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:12 PM

Well, at least it's not just me.

Hi everyone!

Posted by: Tammy at May 23, 2006 08:13 PM

All in all, not bad. She didn't hurt herself with that.

Posted by: Chris at May 23, 2006 08:13 PM

If one of them does "I wanna be inside your heaven...." I'm going to KILL something.

Posted by: Jaquandor at May 23, 2006 08:14 PM

WTF is she wearing, anyway? Skank.

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:14 PM

YAY Taylor!

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:14 PM

Hey Chris! Thanks for fillng me in...this is my first year watching this.

Taylor I like.

Posted by: Tammy at May 23, 2006 08:15 PM

Taylor is wearing a shiny purple jacket. It's shiny. It's a jacket. Therefore all of my worst fears have come to pass: Taylor's got the shiny breasts.

Ah, fuck it, anyway, I love this guy.

Posted by: Jaquandor at May 23, 2006 08:15 PM

LOL, I can see that y'all will be having fun tonight!

I'm just swinging by to say "Hey!" to Beth and tell her the Ladies of the Cotillion who AREN'T following AI will try to overload the list while she's away *snicker*

You guys have loads of fun, and may the best person win! (Waitaminnit.... who's left, again? LOLOLOL)

-- R'cat

Posted by: Romeocat at May 23, 2006 08:15 PM

See, I hate this song but I like Taylor enough to not hate it.

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:16 PM

ROFL...Taylor with the shiny breasts.....

Posted by: Tammy at May 23, 2006 08:16 PM

Score Taylor 1, Kat 0. That set the bar up there rather high.

Posted by: Chris at May 23, 2006 08:16 PM

The audience is *noticably* louder for Taylor. As well they should be.

Posted by: Ian S. at May 23, 2006 08:16 PM

Oh, sure R'cat, bail out on us. :-P

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:17 PM

WTF, is Paula back on the pipe again?

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:17 PM

He pwned her ass.

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:18 PM

God. I hated hated hated hated HATED that arrangement of "Over the Rainbow".

Posted by: Jaquandor at May 23, 2006 08:19 PM

So what's the deal, are they supposed to be doing stuff tonight that they've done before?

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:19 PM

Beth, to bail on you, I'd have to have been in the boat... Sorry, never watched any AI.

[ducks, runs, hides]

;-) Have fun!

-- R'cat

Posted by: Romeocat at May 23, 2006 08:20 PM

R'Cat, get back here...turn on the TV...I'm too behind in my email already!

Posted by: Tammy at May 23, 2006 08:20 PM

the problems with doing Over the Rainbow again are 1 It can't be better than last time, which is burned into peoples minds. Since it can't match it, it can't help her. 2. it looks like she's playing it safe and that's not going to help her.

Posted by: Chris at May 23, 2006 08:21 PM

Didn't they used to do a song the judges chose, one "rerun", and one new choice? Two they've already done seems a bit safe, doesn't it?

Posted by: Jaquandor at May 23, 2006 08:22 PM

She's on the floor again. Why am I not surprised?

Posted by: Tammy at May 23, 2006 08:23 PM

I still hate it. And it's the exact same damn thing we saw one week ago. Snore.

Posted by: Jaquandor at May 23, 2006 08:24 PM

She's going to need a wardrobe malfunction to make it interesting again. Not a good choice for her to do.

Posted by: Chris at May 23, 2006 08:24 PM

Why do people think adding in extra notes makes a song better? Just asking...

Posted by: Chris at May 23, 2006 08:25 PM

I just didn't get what was so damn special about her Over the Rainbow thing.

OMG, she's sitting again. WTF is that shit, anyway?

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:26 PM

Oh, Lord, Tammy - not you, too!?

Heck, I don't even know what frelling channel it's on...

(waiting for the Spanish Inqusition to carry me away *grin*)

-- R'cat

Posted by: Romeocat at May 23, 2006 08:26 PM

I liked this the first time, but now it's ho-hum and she was sharp on a few notes to boot.

Posted by: Ian S. at May 23, 2006 08:27 PM

R'cat, it's all Beth's fault!

Posted by: Tammy at May 23, 2006 08:27 PM

She sucks, and I hated that song, and I hate her saggy boobs shirt too.

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:28 PM

WOW if America ever gets a hankerin for a Judy Garland Showtunes CD...KAT will have a chart topper.

Excuse me while I go YAK

Posted by: bamatt at May 23, 2006 08:28 PM

OH! Cat, it's on Fox.

Posted by: Tammy at May 23, 2006 08:28 PM

Now Ian! Simon said it was her best of the season. How dare you! :)

Agree totally. BTW, I would like to put in an advanced request for Taylor's upcoming Levon (provided that website was right) .

Posted by: Chris at May 23, 2006 08:29 PM

Beth, Baylee just asked me if Katherine ever wears a bra. She's only 10 and noticed the sagging.

Posted by: Tammy at May 23, 2006 08:31 PM

Cars looks cool too! It's going to be a great summer!

Posted by: Chris at May 23, 2006 08:31 PM

Taylor has such a beautiful voice. He is wiping the stage with Kat.

Posted by: bamatt at May 23, 2006 08:33 PM

Isn't he gonna spaz with this?

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:33 PM

Ahhh, that was beautiful.

Posted by: Ian S. at May 23, 2006 08:34 PM

bamatt, I totally agree. Kat is teh suxx.

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:34 PM

Nope, I think he just showed us he can sing without spazzing.

Posted by: Tammy at May 23, 2006 08:34 PM

Score: Taylor 1.5 Cat 0.5. Call that one a tie in rd 2.

Posted by: Chris at May 23, 2006 08:35 PM

What planet is Randy from? He missed exactly one note.

Posted by: Ian S. at May 23, 2006 08:35 PM

Randy FUCKING SUCKS. Randy FUCKING SUCKS. Randy FUCKING Jackson FUCKING SUCKS!!!

Douchebag.

Posted by: Jaquandor at May 23, 2006 08:35 PM

Yeah, yeah, they have to make it look close. It's laughable.

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:36 PM

Randy & Simon are totally hitting Paula's sippy cup. Pitchy my arse. Kat took the 2nd round my big old arse.

Posted by: bamatt at May 23, 2006 08:36 PM

Ditto that, Jaquandor! Randy fucking Jackson fucking sucks!

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:36 PM

*laughing* Yes, I know that, Tammy... I just don't know which channel DirecTV has Fox slotted in to...

Anyway, I am now GOING! I'm going to find something to eat, and then find some trouble to get into.

:)

-- R'cat

Posted by: Romeocat at May 23, 2006 08:37 PM

And shit, before we break up this group until next year, I keep meaning to ask but always forget: WTF is Randy Jackson there for, anyway? I mean what was his function in life before AI?
I'm guessing Simon was some producer or something (who knows?), but Randy?
???

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:38 PM

HA! Her sippy cup! hahahahahaha

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:38 PM

Now see, this is why we missed Beth. The chat is spicy now. America, Fuck yeah!

Posted by: Chris at May 23, 2006 08:40 PM

Just to say HI during commercial. My name is Teresa. I have enjoyed reading your postings after the show on may days. I live in Taylor country & went to see him on his hometown visit. He was amazing & I got some killer pics.

Posted by: bamatt at May 23, 2006 08:40 PM

Randy actually has pretty impressive musical credits.

Posted by: Ian S. at May 23, 2006 08:40 PM

"Open her mouth and make noise."

Yup.

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:40 PM

I don't have a clue where he came from. Anyone?

Posted by: Tammy at May 23, 2006 08:41 PM

Yikes. She sucks at this one.

Posted by: Slublog at May 23, 2006 08:41 PM

Oh sure, Ian, I guess I COULD have Googled it, huh? hahaha

Hi Teresa, I'm in Bama too - in Mobile (close enough!)

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:42 PM

That's the offkey Kat we all know & love (hate). Can't wait to not buy this single.

Posted by: bamatt at May 23, 2006 08:42 PM

THIS FUCKING BLOWS!

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:43 PM

I'm in Pelham Beth. Only about 15 min south of B'ham.

Posted by: bamatt at May 23, 2006 08:43 PM

Yeah, not the best final impression, but she sure is pretty...

Posted by: Chris at May 23, 2006 08:44 PM

Hey Randy! THIS is fucking pitchy, you damnable twit!

(Can you tell Randy pissed me off with his last Taylor critique?)

This song's her debut single? Write that down, folks -- it's sure to come in useful when you're playing Trivial Pursuit in twenty years. It's not like this crappy song's gonna be a hit or anything.

(I don't even dislike Katherine -- she's just lived on borrowed time for so long, as far as I can tell.)

Posted by: Jaquandor at May 23, 2006 08:44 PM

hahahahahaaa bama!

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:44 PM

Thank you Kat. This song is so bad if Taylor doesn't win now I know it's rigged.

Posted by: bamatt at May 23, 2006 08:44 PM

Owwwwwwwww! She's waaaaaaaaaay off key.

Posted by: Ian S. at May 23, 2006 08:44 PM

Has she hit a single note in this whole song?

Posted by: deb at May 23, 2006 08:44 PM

HAHA, My daughter muted the TV and she's even MORE ridiculous looking!

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:45 PM

Jaq: They'll AutoTune it for the radio version and it'll be huge because of people looking at her boobs.

Posted by: Ian S. at May 23, 2006 08:45 PM

Randy Jackson = tool.

Posted by: Slublog at May 23, 2006 08:46 PM

now we've got randy telling that she looks good?

Posted by: deb at May 23, 2006 08:46 PM

Good grief, all they have to say is "you look great" and you know she SUCKED. They're such fucking dipshits.

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:46 PM

Randy said she sounded good but Taylor was previously pitchy. Fuck you Randy you deaf idiot. Thank you Simon for at least having ears.

Posted by: bamatt at May 23, 2006 08:46 PM

Simon hits it right on. Taylor is set up to win.

Posted by: Chris at May 23, 2006 08:47 PM

thank you beth!!

Posted by: deb at May 23, 2006 08:47 PM

Nice of Simon to tell everyone to ignore songs 1 and 3 and vote for her anyway.
I wanna punch her in the teeth.

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:47 PM

Maybe Kat could sing better with a few less teeth. Maybe the extra air flow would help with her pitch problems hehehehe

Posted by: bamatt at May 23, 2006 08:49 PM

You're right, Beth: "you look great" is AI-judge speak for "Shitty performance". Kinda like the old "Hey, I got a girl you might like, and she's got a great personality!"

Posted by: Jaquandor at May 23, 2006 08:50 PM

HA! "Great personality!"

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:51 PM

The opposite works too, like when Simon insulted Taylor's jacket.

Posted by: Ian S. at May 23, 2006 08:51 PM

Wow. Just wow.

Posted by: Tammy at May 23, 2006 08:53 PM

One other important observation (as if anytihng I say is important, but hey, it makes me feel important), Taylor has NEVER failed to perform. He's never been nervous, never used excuses or anything. he walks out and performs. Like this one. He looks like he's sung it for years.

Posted by: Chris at May 23, 2006 08:53 PM

Taylor's voice sounds great. But the song lyrics sound like they were written by a 10 year old. I mean can Idol not find any decent song writers? Taylor has won all 3 rounds in my unhumble opinion.

Posted by: bamatt at May 23, 2006 08:54 PM

Wowowowowowowowowowow! He *nailed* the key change and everything.

Posted by: Ian S. at May 23, 2006 08:54 PM

For the chorus, do they just grab random people from the UCLA graduation ceremony or something?

Oh, and Taylor's singing the hell out of this, even though it's not that great a song either. That's what Taylor does: he makes middling songs sound a hell of a lot better. That's what artists do.

So go Taylor!

Posted by: Jaquandor at May 23, 2006 08:55 PM

Kat has been blown away. Final score: taylor 2.5, Kat 0.5

Taylor should win. AI will rig it and Kat will win...

Posted by: Chris at May 23, 2006 08:55 PM

w00t!

I think Simon's right, or at least he'd BETTER be!

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:56 PM

Question - Have Randy and Paula ever contributed anything other than inane catchphrases to the show?

Posted by: Slublog at May 23, 2006 08:56 PM

Hahahahahaha. Catfight in the judges!

Posted by: Ian S. at May 23, 2006 08:56 PM

Hey everybody, I'm just popping in to say "hi." Unfortunately, I haven't been watching because I've been stuck at work (I won't be out until 9:30 and I won't be home till 11 or so, which means I'm also going to miss the season finale of House...grr...) Same thing tomorrow, so I won't be joining in on the elimination night fun except to read your comments. Ah, well...I'll just download the HD-quality episodes later this week...

Beth: Good to have you back, finally!

P.S. Taylor is going to wipe the floor with Katharine's shiny breasts tomorrow.

Posted by: Samit at May 23, 2006 08:56 PM

Time to vote, y'all... TG for the text voting.

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:57 PM

Of course the technical problems are obvious. Only 3 lines each. All 6 will be clogged all night. it will be the text votes that will carry it and Ai can rig those no problem.

Posted by: Chris at May 23, 2006 08:57 PM

Gotta go get my dialidol cranked up. Taylor kicked the McBoobies all over the stage tonight. It was nice chatting with you all.

Posted by: bamatt at May 23, 2006 08:57 PM

Slublog-
Answer: Not no, but HELL no.

Randy: Yo dog, just bein' real here.

Paula: I looooooooove you!

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:58 PM

I got in 3 non-text votes for Taylor last week.

Posted by: Ian S. at May 23, 2006 08:58 PM

You too Bama!

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:58 PM

Oh, how I loathe this Had a Bad Day bullshit.

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 08:59 PM

I gave up on dialing, and I said fuckit to the Dialidol software. So text it is.

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 09:01 PM

G'night everyone! 5702/04/06!

Posted by: Beth at May 23, 2006 09:01 PM

Good night everyone! And may I say it's been a pleasure this season.

(Remember two years ago when the AI finale and the 24 finale were the same night? I'm still amazed that my heart didn't explode that night.)

Posted by: Jaquandor at May 23, 2006 09:03 PM

Good night everyone! Soul Patrol! Woooooo! See ya tomorrow!

Posted by: Chris at May 23, 2006 09:03 PM

Night, ya'll...see you tomorrow.

Posted by: Tammy at May 23, 2006 09:05 PM
