3/28

By Michele

Welcome to another week, everyone.

Ok, I missed the beginning. What's the theme?

Songs of the 21st century? Bleh.

Lisa was awful.

I. Hate. Kelly. Pickler.

Hmm. I hate Ace too. He's pretty damn bland.

If Chris can make Creed sound good, he deserves to win.

Comments

I was getting nervous there for a moment. Glad you opened it up Michelle

Evening Michele. Hello everyone.

Posted by: Timmer at March 28, 2006 08:01 PM

Only a one hour show tonight, I hope it's long enough for Paula to lose her mind.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:02 PM

Lisa doing Kelly.

Wow she's sharp tonight.

Posted by: Timmer at March 28, 2006 08:03 PM

I'm still kind of dazed. My Idol snark machine was calibrated for Kevin, and now he's gone.

"Songs of the 21st Century". This theme usually bores me to tears.

Posted by: Jaquandor at March 28, 2006 08:03 PM

"Because of Her" I turned down the TV. "Because of Her" I'm afraid.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:03 PM

I think the theme is songs of the last decade.

Posted by: Timmer at March 28, 2006 08:04 PM

Timmer: "Sharp" as in, pitch-wise she's singing sharp? Or sharp as in, she's on her game?

I have a feeling I'll be saying "Meh" a lot tonight. Lisa: Meh.

Posted by: Jaquandor at March 28, 2006 08:04 PM

The singers will get very limited time tonight, 10 performances in one hour. Good thing is there won't be any silly personal montages.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:04 PM

That's risky and I don't think she did it well.. Bye Lisa. You're out tomorrow. Sorry.

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 08:04 PM

Oh, by the way, HI EVERYONE!! Good to hear everyone this week!

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 08:06 PM

(I hate it when the judges disagree over adjectives!)

Posted by: Jaquandor at March 28, 2006 08:06 PM

hi all

Posted by: Faith at March 28, 2006 08:06 PM

Kelly and Ace up next, good, get the crappy ones out of the way.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:07 PM

I've decided to take my hair to the nexus level. Thank you commercials.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:10 PM

No...her pitch was scaring my cats...way too high.

Posted by: Timmer at March 28, 2006 08:10 PM

Hate to say it. Best vocal performance she's had in a while. She'll be here a while.

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 08:11 PM

The Pickster: she has a nice country voice, but she just seems kind of unconvincing to me. She's this year's Diana DiGarmo for me. OK performance. Song: Meh.

Posted by: Jaquandor at March 28, 2006 08:12 PM

50 seconds of pure pain. So is so fake.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:12 PM

Hey everyone!

Lisa sucked, and I hate Pickler (AND country music).

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:12 PM

I think Kellie did well, but hated that song.

Posted by: Timmer at March 28, 2006 08:12 PM

Oh, I'm sorry too, Pickler. You suck.

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:13 PM

No, Acehole is going to make me puke.

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:14 PM

Yeah, Lisa wasn't great.

Yay, Simon made Kellie cry!

Both of those songs were bad choices.

Posted by: Denise at March 28, 2006 08:14 PM

if Ace messes this up...

Posted by: Timmer at March 28, 2006 08:14 PM

V A P I D

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:14 PM

What the fuck??? He said he's gonna rock? That does it, I actually hate him more if he thinks this is "rock."

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:14 PM

Ace. Must control fist of death. Or to give a hat tip to Douglass Adams, my intestines just volunteered to strangle me... this sucks.

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 08:14 PM

Ace and Kellie are like sheeted ghosts, empty, hollow, and devoid of soul

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:15 PM

What's with Ace's rosy cheeks? Did he fall asleep in the sun or something? I'm liking him more than I have before, but that's not saying a whole lot. Decent enough performance.

Posted by: Jaquandor at March 28, 2006 08:15 PM

FEEL THE HATE, ACEHOLE. HATE.

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:15 PM

That blew...next.

Posted by: Timmer at March 28, 2006 08:15 PM

wow, pure rock. I haven't rocked that hard since I saw Clay Aiken singing "Copa"

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:15 PM

YEAH! You suck ass, Acehole!

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:16 PM

I'm going to be harsh. That was absolutely miserable.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:16 PM

And Paula moves in for the kill...

Posted by: Ian S. at March 28, 2006 08:16 PM

She makes me want to vomit.

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:16 PM

Ooo, he has a real scar. Woo.

Posted by: Denise at March 28, 2006 08:16 PM

Oh, great. Showing a scar. Just don't let those Neverland pictures get out.

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 08:17 PM

Why the fuck is he even still on?

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:17 PM

Beth: you're right. That was about as "rock" as Barry Manilow is "soul".

Oh God, there goes Paula! "Ace, that wasn't a great performance, and you need to...hey, sailor, is that a scar? Ooooh, how did you get that? I'd love to finger that scar someday...I have nice fingers...."

Posted by: Jaquandor at March 28, 2006 08:17 PM

HA! (Chris)

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:17 PM

Beth: Because Kevin and Melissa sucked more. Although, I think Melissa was better than Ace. He won't make it much farther. He's too creepy.

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 08:18 PM

First three performances were like the appetizer you take one bite of at the wedding but then spit up into a napkin.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:18 PM

Chad: LOL that is a perfect description!

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 08:19 PM

Gracias Chris.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:19 PM

(Just saw the Cingular Idol Ringtones ad. I swear to God that if anyone in my presence ever has their phone ring to the voice of Kevin Covais, I will stuff said person's phone up their ass.)

Posted by: Jaquandor at March 28, 2006 08:19 PM

He's about as "rock" as...Marilyn Manson is a Cardinal.

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:19 PM

...spit up into a napkin.

hahahahhaaaa I thnk I DID do that, actually!

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:20 PM

Hoepfully these two can turn the beat around.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:22 PM

Ugh. He whined that whole song.

Posted by: Tanya at March 28, 2006 08:22 PM

The kid looks like a ghost.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:22 PM

All right, Taylor, do it right.

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:23 PM

No spazzing? WTF?

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:24 PM

There's the leg twitch

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:24 PM

Love this song, lovin' this version.

Oh Ian?

Posted by: Timmer at March 28, 2006 08:24 PM

W00t!

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:25 PM

What the hell is Taylor wearing???

Ach, who cares -- he's just standing in one place and singing. God, I love this guy. After three fakers, it's nice to see someone on stage who seems to actually FEEL what they're singing.

Taylor's my boy!

Posted by: Jaquandor at March 28, 2006 08:25 PM

I was in a South Carolina Diner for lunch today and there was a table of lady officers talking about Taylor. Everyone likes this guy.

Not his best, but the best so far. He'll be aruond a while

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 08:25 PM

Randy, likes the spazzin'.

Posted by: Timmer at March 28, 2006 08:25 PM

Oh, and Randy is a fucking idiot.

Posted by: Jaquandor at March 28, 2006 08:26 PM

Smooth transaction. Quick Payment. A pleasure to do business with. A++

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:26 PM

Oh hell, I'm agreeing with Paula.

Simon's lost his mind.

Posted by: Timmer at March 28, 2006 08:26 PM

WTF, Simon last week said it's not a dance competition!

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:27 PM

Mandisa: I love her almost as much as Taylor, but I'm not liking this song that much. She seems to be doing well with it. The song's a "Meh", but she still rules.

Posted by: Jaquandor at March 28, 2006 08:28 PM

Mandisa: Finally, I song I've heard before. Well, I'd heard the Kelly Clarkson song, but this is better.

Thank you, Mandisa for actually bringing it!

Posted by: Denise at March 28, 2006 08:28 PM

Mandisa's takin' us to church.

Well she's having fun...but I've liked her a lot more in the past.

It's just everywhere.

Posted by: Timmer at March 28, 2006 08:29 PM

She completely rules and has talent. The song is not my favorite however.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:29 PM

Not her best. Shouting way too much. Sounded like she missed some notes, but still better than the bottom 3.

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 08:29 PM

Randy and I are hearing the same thing tonight.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:29 PM

I don't understand Mandisa picking a song where she raps for half of it. That's not her strength.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 28, 2006 08:29 PM

Church of Mandisa? That's blasphemous Paula!

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:30 PM

Of course, he didn't get it! He hates CCM worse than country. Ha! That cracks me up!

Posted by: Denise at March 28, 2006 08:30 PM

She was too shouty for me too. Not her best week, IMHO.

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:30 PM

Agree 100% with you Beth

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:32 PM

(But somehow with our DM background I think you already knew that)

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:32 PM

Chad--I posted more Pink Floyd for ya at the blog! :-)

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:32 PM

Sweetness! Loving it. BTW, that 94 tour is finally coming out on DVD. I'll keep you posted to when it arrives.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:33 PM

Fuck, I hate Creed with a passion. At least it isn't Creed performing it.

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:35 PM

Send medical help, can't stop shaking, lights getting to me.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:35 PM

My head's bangin'...suhwheet.

Posted by: Timmer at March 28, 2006 08:35 PM

Beth, please please stop this. I am the biggest Creed loather in the world. I have had to cover scott stapp for years, and I have so so so many stories.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:35 PM

One thing the Americans in have in general is a sense of fairness. I wonder if the fact that everytime Chris sings he gets flashing lights and spot lights and the works and no one else does will go against him later.

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 08:36 PM

Okay, not loving it so much at the end.

Again, that was more for him and less for us.

Posted by: Timmer at March 28, 2006 08:36 PM

OK, I know I'm the apostate, but I didn't like this.

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:36 PM

Chris, I absolutely, absolutely absolutely agree with you. I've been championing your thoughts for years.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:36 PM

You're not the only one. That was bad.

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 08:37 PM

What if Paula just shut up?

Posted by: Denise at March 28, 2006 08:37 PM

Wasn't good at all. Very boring. Very bland.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:37 PM

Simon is dead on. He's pegging himself as a one trick pony. Better do something better next week.

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 08:38 PM

WTG Simon

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:38 PM

I am the biggest Creed loather in the world.

HA! No, I am! ;-)

They're right, Chris wasn't on tonight. Plus I like him less because he likes Creed and Live. Yecch. We don't need another guy doing that shit music with a record contract.

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:38 PM

Dang, I love Katherine, but this isn't good at all. What is happening today. No one is MP3 worthy tonight. Wow.

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 08:39 PM

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:39 PM

I had a phone call during Chris, but I heard lots of rocking and saw a flashy light show during it, which is what he's done every week. Simon confirmed it.

I'd love it, though, if someone would look Randy in the eye and say, "OK, you pick my fucking song!"

Posted by: Jaquandor at March 28, 2006 08:40 PM

I'll send some Scott Stapp audio interview clips tomorrow and you will find a new level of hatred.

Katharine was pleasent. Nice, clean, good. Not wow-ed, not angry, no going to pick up crack over it.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:40 PM

I love her, love her voice, didn't like this song.

Posted by: Timmer at March 28, 2006 08:40 PM

Yeah, Chris needs to mix it up a little. Creed, ugh.

Posted by: Denise at March 28, 2006 08:40 PM

Bullshit, Simon.

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:40 PM

Katherine: Meh.

"The best tonight"? Uh, OK, Simon.

Posted by: Jaquandor at March 28, 2006 08:40 PM

Best tonight? Did my ears go bad for the last 5 minutes? I thought that was terrible. Of course, it could still be the best tonight. Everyone else has sucked tonight too. Except Taylor and he was only decent.

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 08:41 PM

Noooooo! No Scott Stapp! Eeeeeek!

(But feel free to slag him all you want.)

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:41 PM

So far the best tonight was the Papa John's commercial we got here. That cheese almost looks like cheese.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:41 PM

Chad: Loathing beyond the tape?

Posted by: Ian S. at March 28, 2006 08:41 PM

Way beyond. We got the first interview with him after the tape became public knowledge. He's so angry at everyone else, it's sad. Really really sad.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:42 PM

Yep...I'm thinking the same thing, Chris. So far, I've only liked Taylor tonight, and the only one left who can do jack shit is whatserface....Lisa Jr.

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:42 PM

Paris, that is.

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:43 PM

It's been so bad, that if Pothead is just his average self, he'll be the best of the night. Of course the flip side is that if he follows everyone else, I'll have to go puke in the other room...

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 08:44 PM

Group poll tonight, Salt + Vinger or Sour cream + Onion? Majority in first three answers picks the snack.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:44 PM

Oh yeah, Pothead. Well, too bad for him Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers aren't "21st Century."

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:45 PM

GAWD.

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:45 PM

Salt and Vinger...all the way.

Posted by: Timmer at March 28, 2006 08:45 PM

What's with the Halloween costume?

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:46 PM

Their lighting guy has to start realizing these kids like wearing hats and give them some uplights.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:46 PM

What's with the Halloween costume? -- ROFL

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:46 PM

Okay, I can't hear Bucky for shit.

Posted by: Timmer at March 28, 2006 08:46 PM

This is probably Bucky's best performance. Too bad that it's still not that good.

Posted by: Jaquandor at March 28, 2006 08:46 PM

Ok, I hate to say it, but that was best so far. How far the others fell tonight.

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 08:47 PM

He's married?? He's married?? I suddenly feel so much better about my future possibilities.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:47 PM

Bucky's the guy you hoped your kids wouldn't play with at school.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:48 PM

Paris: I have NO idea if she's doing this well or poorly. Seriously, this song is so not my cup of tea that I can't begin to form an opinion of her performance. I'm recusing myself here.

Posted by: Jaquandor at March 28, 2006 08:49 PM

Well, you can still rate her dancing if you want :p

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:49 PM

Not my style of music, but Paris just kicked everyone else's ass.

Posted by: Timmer at March 28, 2006 08:49 PM

Paris can sing, but I hate this song. Quit shaking your non existant butt. You're 17 for crying out loud. That blew.

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 08:50 PM

I don't know this song at all, but there's like almost no band playing. She's a good performer, but I wasn't that into the song.

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:50 PM

Beth, you're doing that thing again.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:50 PM

I admit that is so not my type of music. I don't know it, can't rate it, can't feel it.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:51 PM

Ah, Simon's being a dick.

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:51 PM

I'm digging the Peppermint Patty hair do Paris had

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:51 PM

Heh. :-D

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:51 PM

Totally, right?

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:52 PM

Chad, Beth: The fact that you don't know if it was good, tells me that it blew. I don't care if it was a perfect rendition of Beyonce. It didn't reach us, so it sucked. Just my opinion. Your mileage may vary

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 08:52 PM

Chris: Absolutely noted and I'm having a bad aftertaste to her performance. Like salsbury steak.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:53 PM

Do we really need an American Idol Commercial in the middle of the show?

Posted by: Timmer at March 28, 2006 08:54 PM

Helliot is such a fuckin' GEEK.

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:55 PM

Elliott's been getting into the california grass.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:55 PM

Ballsy move. I still listen to Bo's version.

Posted by: Timmer at March 28, 2006 08:55 PM

LYRIC alert

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:55 PM

Oh, take your coat off. Jeesh.

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 08:55 PM

Not bad but not great.

Posted by: Timmer at March 28, 2006 08:56 PM

Paula up and dancing. As a professional dancer, you think she'd know how to dance in a crowd.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:56 PM

Elliott: What is it with this guy? Every time he's on, he goes in one of my ears and right back out the other. He seems to have a good voice, but I can NOT get into his performances. Oh well.

Posted by: Jaquandor at March 28, 2006 08:56 PM

Ok, Chris gets a flashing background, Elliot gets 3 nondescrip unattractive background singers.

Still, that was ok.

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 08:56 PM

Jacq-When they said they had one more left to perform, I couldn't for the life of me remember who it was. Letting him sing last is really going to help him IMHO

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:57 PM

I think he's going for the Beastie Boys look, and I have no idea what that song was.

..and the dancing was hideous! hahahahaa

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:57 PM

The main problem with tonight's show is, and why it was so sub-par and horrible, is that the performances were all so sort. There is no way a crowd can get into a performance when there is only two minutes of music every 12 minutes. Really really bad

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:59 PM

The only thing that didn't suck or bore me was Taylor. Even Chris annoyed the shit out of me.

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:59 PM

Good point, Chad.

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 08:59 PM

Make sure Paris doesn't move the ball this time when I kcik the field goal.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 08:59 PM

Ya know, I'm votin' for Taylor and that's all.

Posted by: Timmer at March 28, 2006 09:00 PM

Ice Age 2 everyone! Woo Hoo!

Seriously:

Top 3

1. Pothead
2. Taylor
3. Pick Pickler/Elliot

Bottom 3:
Ace
Lisa
Mandissa

Going home:

Lisa.

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 09:00 PM

The songs are basically one verse and one chorus, way to short. Tonight's show is all about popularity and fan retention. You're not going to win anyone over in such a time span. Like tonight, we all lost love for whoemever it was we were feeling before. It'll be interesting to see how many actually vote.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 09:00 PM

OK, who's leaving? Lisa or Pothead? ('Cause you know that fucktard Acehole isn't leaving yet.)

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 09:01 PM

How much is Ice Age spending on marketing? They are everywhere.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 09:01 PM

My money is on a suprise bottom three, Lisa, Bucky, and Chris. Going home is Lisa.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 09:02 PM

Fox owns Ice Age, don't they? I for one can't wait!

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 09:03 PM

:sigh: Another week of aggravation with American Idol.
Seriously, now I don't want Chris to win. I hate Creed-type music, and he's totally Creed. Bleh.

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 09:03 PM

I want that hour of my life back.

Posted by: Timmer at March 28, 2006 09:04 PM

Don't turn on him yet, Beth. Everyone has flaws. He'll recover and blow us away next week.

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 09:04 PM

Yes Beth, I too fear he is Creed. That's so sad. So, so sad. Hopefully Robert Blake will take a liking to Chris' singing and take him out for Italian food.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 09:04 PM

I think Lisa and Bucky are both in the bottom 3, and it wouldn't surprise me if Chris were too, Chad. But I have no clue, I don't understand who is voting for some of these people.

VFTW is for Pickler now, that's all I know. And Chickenboy is GONE!

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 09:05 PM

Hopefully Robert Blake will take a liking to Chris' singing and take him out for Italian food.

hahahahhahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Don't turn on him yet, Beth

I dunno, he's only really kicked ass two weeks, as far as I'm concerned. This week sucked.

Posted by: Beth at March 28, 2006 09:07 PM

Good night everyone, check you tomorrow.

Posted by: chris at March 28, 2006 09:07 PM

VFTW lost a lot of credibility with me last week. I would most like to see Ace go. He high on my hit list.

Posted by: Chad at March 28, 2006 09:07 PM

Everyone have a great night. This was a blast. I'm off to read the Barry Bonds book. It can't be any wose than Ace's performance tonight

>>VFTW lost a lot of credibility with me last week.

I find it hilarious that anyone would initially grant them credibility. Seriously, they exist for a stupid and frat-boy-esque contrarian reason.

My favorite hambone moment of the whole show was when Ace pulled his shirt back & showed us his scar at the exact moment he sang the word scar. It just barely topped when he pulled a strand of his greasy hair while looking all Constantine at the camera. I almost fell off the sofa laughing.

Ian, could you post Taylor's and Bucky's songs for me, pretty please?

I'll second that request. Those are the only two I liked, too.

I've hated Pickler from the beginning since she started overselling her "poor me, I live with my grandpa". Now she's faking the dumb blonde thing. Just think about it, she got this "awww, she's so cute" response from the "minx/mink" mixup, so then she says "what's a ballsy"?!!!!!! Ummm, as if. Come on! She really expects us to believe.....well I guess she's got a lot of people falling for it because she wasn't in the bottom three. God, I want to see her tortured. No, I want to see her humiliated by her own fakeness. That would make my week.

Kelly the fake Pickler. Is this american idol or american she should win because she is cute. With kelly who needs talent at all. The show is going from singing talent to just acting. If this is the case Kelly wins hands down.
