12!

By Michele

Good evening everyone. I'll be here and there. Carry on per usual.

Ok, stopping in for Mandisa (another busy night at chez Michele).

She rocked the house. Still my number one chick and my second favorite overall.

Bucky was pretty damn awesome, eh?
I just can't get past the look. And the name.

Wow. Paris sounds like she's already a star.

YES CHRIS!!!!!!!

hi all!

Posted by: Faith at March 14, 2006 08:03 PM

Don't know if I'll make it through both hours, if the Stevie Wonder gets on my nerves I may switch over to The Unit.

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 08:05 PM

Hello all. Bigger studio looks nice tonight.

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 08:06 PM

hello y'all

Posted by: Priscilla at March 14, 2006 08:07 PM

C'mon. Let's get it on! Heck there's the idea. Put them in a room full of bats and let the winner take all...

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 08:09 PM

Howdy, y'all.

Okay, Ace up. Okay, he gets one point for not wearing that stupid beanie.

Posted by: Denise at March 14, 2006 08:10 PM

What the heck was with Ace picking his eye and looking at it during the interview? Did anyone else catch that?

Posted by: Faith at March 14, 2006 08:10 PM

Ace.

I just don't like him.

Working the room, works the camera, but not workin' for me. Do girls like him?

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 08:11 PM

Hey everyone!
-----
I think I hate Ace more than ever with this song. ::cringeing::

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 08:11 PM

I think Ace was trying to show some emotion during that interview segment. ECH

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 08:11 PM

I'm going to predict that Ace won't make the top 5. He's creepy in that Michael Jackson kind of way.

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 08:12 PM

He sounded like Michael Jackson again. Hate him. Hate. Feel the Ace-hate.

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 08:12 PM

I just hope he doesnt win. I want someone with singing talent to win.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 08:12 PM

GMTA as usual, Chris. ;-)

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 08:12 PM

I imagine him in the Burger King head.

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 08:13 PM

SHOCKING! Paula fawned over Ace
She makes me sick, she'll need a new chair soon. (sorry to be mean)

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 08:13 PM

No doubt Beth! I don't think women are that shallow. Ace will drop sooner rather than later.

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 08:14 PM

Ace should get a job as a model...forget this singing thing.

Posted by: Denise at March 14, 2006 08:14 PM

Too funny Timmer!

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 08:14 PM

PICK PICKLER! Here we go. Country fried Stevie.

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 08:18 PM

I wonder if what VFTW says about kelly is true...

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 08:19 PM

Pickler - is it all an act or what?

Posted by: Kat at March 14, 2006 08:19 PM

Well, at least these two are out of the way early.

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 08:19 PM

The Pickle definitely has more personality than Carrie Underwood.

Posted by: Denise at March 14, 2006 08:19 PM

Did she just say she didn't know much about stevie wonder. my god, she's jessica simpson

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 08:20 PM

What does VFTW say about her?

Posted by: Kat at March 14, 2006 08:20 PM

Rose: Some probably is, some probably isn't. She has sang in front of crowds before, so that was exposed. But as for a good life, no, that was greatly stretched.

She's flubbing this song though. Yick.

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 08:20 PM

If it's an act, it's a good one.

Posted by: Owen at March 14, 2006 08:20 PM

What the hell was that weird gesture?

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 08:21 PM

Non-event. No shit.

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 08:21 PM

That it is all an act. That she was involved in drugs, and shes an arrogant bitch.

I would take it with a grain of salt, but they have a pic of her that I doubt many people would have.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 08:21 PM

i do not dig the shoes

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 08:22 PM

Kellie,

She's pretty, bordering on elegant.

That was boring though. Not all that exciting for me at all.

She shouldn't eyebrow the camera either...don't believe her flirting.

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 08:22 PM

Chris: Oh ok. Thanks for explaining.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 08:22 PM

God she is awful... "neeww shooozzz..."
Right on Simon.

Posted by: Kat at March 14, 2006 08:22 PM

Well, Pickler has more personality than Underwood, but not tonight...

Posted by: Denise at March 14, 2006 08:22 PM

Blah blah blah, you look gorgeous, but you sucked. Who gives a shit what she looks like? She's got no talent!

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 08:22 PM

Beth, don't worry. As Becky showed, beauty won't get you the title. She'll be gone soon.

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 08:23 PM

Oh god the cute act is working on the crowd. And most likely America.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 08:24 PM

Wow, she's over-working the "Gee whiz I'm just a Country Girl." bit.

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 08:24 PM

Oh, ain't she too cuuute, y'all, with them fake tarantulas, y'all!

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 08:24 PM

I hope Elliot lives up to his potential tonight.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 08:25 PM

I totally don't get Elliott. He has a good voice, but ZERO appeal. He's a good Vegas lounge singer, that's it.

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 08:26 PM

It's a bit boring.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 08:26 PM

Elliot is so good. This isn't bad. Not saying much, but best so far...

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 08:26 PM

I really expected him to be hugely great with a Stevie song and again, I'm just kind of bored.

I know you didn't want to but you ARE boring me.

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 08:27 PM

What was the name of the song Elliot just sang?

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 08:27 PM

So, the only bright spots will be Mandisa, Paris, Chris and Lisa?

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 08:28 PM

LOUNGE SINGER.

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 08:28 PM

Rose, you forgot Taylor

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 08:29 PM

Karaoke, karaoke, karaoke. But Mandisa's next, so things are looking up!

Posted by: Ian S. at March 14, 2006 08:30 PM

They are going in the order introduced, so Mandissa is next then pothead. Chris will bring it home at the end. So we have to stay tuned.

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 08:32 PM

Five good singers in twelve? There have been better years.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 08:32 PM

Elliot was pretty boring too. Hopefully Mandisa will liven things up.

Posted by: Denise at March 14, 2006 08:32 PM

Go figure, Seacrest has a foot fetish.

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 08:34 PM

NO NO NO the first half of that song was MISERABLE

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 08:36 PM

This isn't Mandisa's song.

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 08:36 PM

Madissa says: That's how it's done. Take that losers!

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 08:36 PM

Great voice, but in NO WAY is she an American
Idol -should have kept the age limit lower. Yuck.

Posted by: Kat at March 14, 2006 08:38 PM

Mandisa.

Beginning...putting...me...to...sleep.

THERE we go.

What's up with her make-up? Did they forget she's showing skin under her neck?

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 08:38 PM

Missed most of that (I'm stuck at work with a pocket LCD TV and headphones) and it seemed a bit off Mandisa's standards, but it still beat the heck out of the first 3.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 14, 2006 08:38 PM

Oh god..pothead singing superstitious. Kill me.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 08:39 PM

Here comes Buck-Tooth...

Posted by: Kat at March 14, 2006 08:39 PM

Oh no. The local fox affiliate just had a teaser for their local news "Rolling Stone discovers Rhonetta? How the most memorable auditioner is coming back". A waking nightmare...

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 08:41 PM

Hey so did mine...

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 08:42 PM

Hi all--just finished eating my dessert :-) I think Mandisa did a good job. So did Eliot, but I just can't get over his creepy gas-station attendant hair and snaggly teeth. Bucky should be interesting...

Posted by: Amanda at March 14, 2006 08:43 PM

I sense a train wreck.

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 08:45 PM

I know some of you think the redneck image is entertaining, but its torture seeing him every week.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 08:45 PM

Oh man, please don't attempt to "dance"...

Posted by: Kat at March 14, 2006 08:45 PM

Great, a guy doing the squat bounce. It's even less...

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 08:45 PM

I think he's trying to be Dwayne Allman.

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 08:46 PM

HA! (C. Rose) - I like the redneck pothead!

Not lovin' this, though.

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 08:46 PM

Put him and Pickler together in some semi-truck and send them back to the southern hell they came from...

Posted by: Kat at March 14, 2006 08:47 PM

Tie up your damn HAIR! He's looking Ace-y with that 'do! BLAH!

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 08:47 PM

I hate to say it, but it didn't sound as bad as I thought. That beat Ace and Pick Pickler. Not saying much, but I think it did.

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 08:47 PM

THANK YOU, Simon!

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 08:48 PM

YEAH!! Simon finally said it! SOmoene had to
thank god

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 08:48 PM

Hey, this southern hell isnt so bad. Theres just so many bucky's.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 08:49 PM

C. Rose: What city are you typing from?

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 08:49 PM

Beth, you and I are simpatico-and by simpatico I mean so over bucky

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 08:49 PM

Yeah, the hair was a little girly...but his greasepot ponytail isn't much better!

I actually think Bucky did a good job tonight--he definitley picked the right song.

Posted by: Amanda at March 14, 2006 08:50 PM

Lancaster, SC.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 08:50 PM

Stevie Wonder's too cool.

But Melissa...I'm cringing already.

Posted by: Denise at March 14, 2006 08:54 PM

Oh, yuck, Melissa!

Posted by: Denise at March 14, 2006 08:55 PM

Shotgun.
Aim
Pull!

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 08:55 PM

So...damn...boring.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 08:55 PM

Ladies and Gentlemen, Ballie's Riverboat Casino Lounge proudly presents...Melissa!

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 08:56 PM

I like my southern hell too. ;-)
Alabama! (Like half the people who make it to AI finalist. Except I don't sing. Or like this show.)

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 08:56 PM

Where's the mute button? This is making me cry!

Posted by: Denise at March 14, 2006 08:56 PM

Tha't why we had the same commercial and have the similiar opinions of the local good ol' boys.. I'm up in Smallisbury, NC. 30 min north of Charlotte.

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 08:56 PM

HA! Timmer!

My ears hurt after Melissa. Bitch.

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 08:56 PM

Good to know im not the only southern person here!

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 08:57 PM

Paula...that's just the meds kicking in, NOT her voice.

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 08:58 PM

shut the fuck up, Paula, with your bullshit comments about their appearance. You're GRASPING. Dumbass.

Simon must be high.

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 08:58 PM

Hey, I'm from Texas.

Posted by: Denise at March 14, 2006 08:59 PM

Lisa. Good, maybe she can kick-start this sorry show!

Posted by: Denise at March 14, 2006 08:59 PM

Well, Lisa might soothe the pain. Damn the sadistic fox bastards for making us watch the whole thing to see chris.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 08:59 PM

Wow, usually I agree with Simon, but I thought Melissa's performance was a total train wreck. Not just the lyrics, but she had a good number of off-key spots, as well.

Posted by: Amanda at March 14, 2006 09:01 PM

Hey, I'm waiting for Taylor Hicks. Love the Spaz Man!

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 09:01 PM

Bring on spaz, bring on spaz

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 09:02 PM

An unrelated question, did anyone here vote for Kevin? If so, WHY? A number of people I know stopped watching when he beat out Geddion.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 09:03 PM

I've never voted for any AI contestant. That would mean I care...or something... I buy the stupid CDs though.

Posted by: Denise at March 14, 2006 09:05 PM

Lisa and Paris are competing for the same demographic. One will bow out within a few weeks the other will go to the top of the heap. I hope it's Lisa. That wasn't too bad.

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 09:06 PM

Lisa, a little disconnected with her moves to the vocal, but I'm truly liking the vocal.

Suhhhhweeeetttt!!!

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 09:06 PM

i would never vote if i didnt have cingular, at least i know my call gets through. And I have not yet nor will vote for Kevin

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 09:07 PM

Why, oh why, did they make this Stevie Wonder night? This isn't working for any of them. Even Lisa was boring.

Denise, I've neither voted nor bought any CD. I just watch it for the snark here!

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 09:07 PM

I can't believe it, but I still think Pothead was the best so far.

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 09:08 PM

Never voted for Kevin. I phoned a vote for Bo last year. Will eventually vote for Chris and maybe a couple others this season. But haven't yet. I may vote Lisa to help eliminate Paris.

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 09:09 PM

I think Lisa did a really good job. I was SO glad to hear she wasn't doing yet another ballad--it's nice to see htat she can do uptempo songs as well.

Chris, what's wrong with Paris?

Posted by: Amanda at March 14, 2006 09:10 PM

If I posted my feelings on Kevin, you would see nothing but cursing. All I'll say is theres a special place in hell for the people that vote for him. Like the people who voted for Scott last year.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 09:10 PM

C. Rose, at least Kevin doesn't beat his baby mama.

Posted by: Amanda at March 14, 2006 09:11 PM

Lisa looks like Natalie Cole. Yes?

Posted by: Faith at March 14, 2006 09:12 PM

Amanda: Nothing against Paris, I just prefer Lisa. I think she has a better voice. Since they are fighting for the same pool of votes, one will go early. Will be interesting to see who goes first.

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 09:14 PM

True Amanda, but still. Who the hell votes for some of these people? Besides FVTW.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 09:14 PM

I'm right there with ya, C. Rose. LOTS of cursing. Kevin is Damien, spawn of Satan.

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 09:15 PM

Oh hes a concieted little bastard. "Sense Im this years sex symbol." I love this song and the little $%#@er is butchering it.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 09:15 PM

Middle school recital time. I'd like to buy a cup of homemade orange drink for a nickel and I'll try Mrs. Putersmidt's homemade brownies. I loathe middle school recitals.

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 09:16 PM

Wow, this is awful.

Posted by: Amanda at March 14, 2006 09:16 PM

I'm just laughing here.

It's just so ridiculous.

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 09:16 PM

OMFG, I need to go vomit. There are no words.

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 09:16 PM

beth please pass the barf bag this way

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 09:17 PM

This is worse than a Mad TV skit. Yuck. Please everyone vote for all the others.

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 09:17 PM

If Paula complimants this I will lose what little respect I have for her.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 09:17 PM

That's it. She's dead to me.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 09:18 PM

Paual, he's too young!!! She's the next Mary Kay Letourneau (sp)

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 09:18 PM

Of course paula will compliment, she has the rule, if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing. However, saying nothing is impossible for her. So, she would compliment a bum on the street for his begging tone just to hear herself.

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 09:18 PM

Whoever's offended by bad words, close your eyes.

I fucking loathe this little ass crumb.

Thank you again, Simon. APPALLING. Fuck you, Chicken Little.

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 09:19 PM

See! He has an ego. I swear, I actually want to hurt him.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 09:19 PM

That sign says, "Chicken Little Rock!"

I'm loving that.

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 09:19 PM

Here's the barf bag, Chad, sorry I was kinda slow finishing up with it.

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 09:20 PM

Geez, Kevin's developed a little attitude problem! The funny thing is, he's going to go back home, all the girls will like him for a little while because of the fame ting, but then it will wear off and he'll become a bitter alcoholic...and then he WILL beat his baby mama!

Posted by: Amanda at March 14, 2006 09:21 PM

And in other news, my 7 year-old daughter said, "what a dork!"

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 09:21 PM

He murdered that song. I used to love it. Now I can't listen to it without seeing him. Damn you chicken little.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 09:23 PM

lol Amanda

"I just watch it for the snark here!" You're the smartest person here, Beth. :)

Posted by: Denise at March 14, 2006 09:25 PM

he was so conceited
it went to his head in two months

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 09:25 PM

I like Katharine. She's doing this pretty decently imo.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 09:26 PM

Geez, what did Nanny McPhee do to her eyes?

I'm liking this performance ok.

Posted by: Denise at March 14, 2006 09:26 PM

Could Katherine be more skreechy?

Posted by: Faith at March 14, 2006 09:26 PM

Kathrine.

Lovely. Absolutely lovely.

Loved that.

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 09:26 PM

Kevin always sounds like he's audtioning for the school musical.

Posted by: Denise at March 14, 2006 09:27 PM

Wow, she actually brought some sex appeal (in a genuinely good way) into the show. what was the name of that song she sang?

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 09:27 PM

That was good. Best so far. Wow.

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 09:27 PM

Ok, so Simon has finally seen through Kellie's act and he's on to McPhee, now.

Posted by: Denise at March 14, 2006 09:28 PM

Chad. "Until you Come Back to Me"

I think.

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 09:28 PM

I think you have to have an appreciation for lame-ass music to think this was so fucking awesome. I guess she was good, but I'm not into this Stevie Wonder shite.

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 09:28 PM

Lance Bass in the audience? Queen has good seats.

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 09:29 PM

Anyone else excited about "V for Vendetta?"

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 09:29 PM

I'm TOTALLY psyched for that movie, Timmer!

Katharine is such a beautiful girl--why does she wear such awful clothes?

Posted by: Amanda at March 14, 2006 09:31 PM

I'm seeing V for Vendetta on Thursday night here in New York City on the Imax screen. Should be huge (no pun intended)

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 09:32 PM

Timmer: V's on the to do list. definitely.

Beth: I guess everyone else has sucked so bad that Katherine was a breath of air.

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 09:33 PM

V for Vendetta on the IMAX? I'm jealous!

Posted by: Denise at March 14, 2006 09:34 PM

Taylor's gonna re-write this shit.

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 09:34 PM

"Dial 'V' for 'Bush = Hitler'?" No thanks.

But it's Taylor the Spaz!

Posted by: Ian S. at March 14, 2006 09:34 PM

I saw an EP Taylor recorded last year on eBay that went for 30 or 40 bucks.

Comparably, the Justin Guarini CD was up for $2 and didn't sell.

Posted by: Denise at March 14, 2006 09:35 PM

Ditto, Ian...no thanks for V.

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 09:35 PM

Fly in Denise :)

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 09:35 PM

Hahahahaha. This is Taylor-iffic!

Posted by: Ian S. at March 14, 2006 09:36 PM

Taylor.

My God he looks like Eddie Murphy doing the White Boy Dance.

But I still love his voice.

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 09:36 PM

Is it just me or is the singer's mic just not turned up enough? They seem way at the back of the room. Or maybe I should just turn up the stereo.

Posted by: Denise at March 14, 2006 09:36 PM

WOOOHOOO!

Taylor kicked Stevie's ASS!

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 09:36 PM

I'm not going for the politics, its work related.

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 09:37 PM

Taylor is so so so the best ever. I am such a fan. I've seen so many singers come and go, he's the shit.

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 09:38 PM

Hey, Drunken Paula, "everyone playing instruments" is usually called a "band" ;-)

Posted by: Ian S. at March 14, 2006 09:38 PM

What was in his hand?

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 09:38 PM

What did he have in his hand? A rabbit's foot? A rabbit's foot that Paula gave him?

Posted by: Denise at March 14, 2006 09:38 PM

I heart Taylor!

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 09:38 PM

Chad: I liked the graphic novel, I'm just terrified what kind of dialogue the creators of the Matrix Revolutions are gonna mine out of it.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 14, 2006 09:38 PM

That was unbelievable. Finally the knock out blow we've been waiting for. Only one who can beat him now is Chris.

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 09:39 PM

Woo Paris!

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 09:40 PM

Paris is so cute :)

Posted by: Ian S. at March 14, 2006 09:40 PM

OMG, is this Paris' baby sister?

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 09:40 PM

Loving it already.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 09:41 PM

V for Vendetta is an anti-Bush rant? Crap.

I hate Hollywood.

Posted by: Denise at March 14, 2006 09:42 PM

Whitney Houston, pre crack days. Not too bad.

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 09:42 PM

A little rough at the beginning, but she's recovered *very* nicely.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 14, 2006 09:42 PM

I'd still like to see it on the IMAX.

Posted by: Denise at March 14, 2006 09:42 PM

Well, put a dictator in a spot of power and there are bound to be similarities.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 09:43 PM

Paris.

Hot...but still kinda boring. Ya know?

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 09:43 PM

Denise, Ian, Beth. I had heard that it's anti-Bush (also anti-Blair) was greatly overstated and that it wasn't that bad. I hope I am wrong, I'll let you know.

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 09:43 PM

I just love this girl.

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 09:43 PM

I thought it was pro-facist? Now i'm going to be all sorts of confused. Go paris go. Now why she's named after the French city I'll never know, nor will I ever visit.

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 09:44 PM

She's cute, humble, and has a fan-%#$*ing-tastic voice.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 09:44 PM

King Chris is next. What a great way to close!

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 09:45 PM

What was with the look on Paulas face while Paris was singing next to Ryan?

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 09:45 PM

I just don't go to the movies or listen to music for the politics. After hearing all the crap about how Star Wars was anti-Bush and then saw that it may have had one or two "topical" lines I gave up believing or paying attention to the right or left's point of view on my entertainment.

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 09:45 PM

Acid flashback?

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 09:46 PM

Re: "V": the original graphic novel is anti-Reagan/Maggie Thatcher. The Wachovskis are quite Marxist (hence Cornell West being in the Matrix flicks) and also write the world's worst dialogue, so I'm expecting a train wreck, regardless of the ultimate political message.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 14, 2006 09:47 PM

...besides, Natalie Portman with a shaved head...I'm SO there.

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 09:47 PM

No, it was the kind of face you make when someone hits a really sour note, except Paris didn't.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 09:49 PM

Chris is gonna do Stevie Wonder a la RHCP? This oughta be fun.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 14, 2006 09:50 PM

Oh, thank God.

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 09:50 PM

Did anyone else get a lightshow?

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 09:50 PM

here we go

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 09:51 PM

Ohh, flashing lights. Hopefully Paula won't get distracted...

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 09:51 PM

Chris.

Kicks. Ass.

That warbling could get on my nerves though.

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 09:51 PM

Damn. Put Taylor and Chris on a tour and I'm there! WOW!

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 09:52 PM

Fan. Tastic.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 14, 2006 09:52 PM

Here's why Kevin could never win, he could never pull off a perforamnce like that. Few of them could. He and Hicks are phenoms

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 09:52 PM

That's right, Chad.

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 09:53 PM

Ian, here's the first request. Can we get that one?

Posted by: chris at March 14, 2006 09:53 PM

BTW, the Wachovskis grew up in my neighborhood. They're about as Marxist as I am. They were weird...but they always wanted to make a ton of money in movies.

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 09:53 PM

Oh, hell yes.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 14, 2006 09:53 PM

Simon just said exaclty what i was thinking. It's the only real performance

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 09:54 PM

Paris and Chris could get record deals right now! DANG!

Posted by: Denise at March 14, 2006 09:55 PM

Yup, Simon's right.

Any other requests before I start? Off hand I'm thinking Chris and Taylor.

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 09:57 PM

id like to hear katharine again. por favor. Let's toss Kevin, Melissa, and Dull-Pickle

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 09:57 PM

If there's one time AI can be fair, it's tomorrow when Kevin goes home.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 09:57 PM

Just watching the recap you can painfully see how in a third world Kevin is compared to the others.

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 09:58 PM

I expect Kevin will hang on entirely too long, just like Federov. I hope I'm wrong though.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 14, 2006 09:59 PM

Well, shit, I might actually vote if I can get through.

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 09:59 PM

Last call: Taylor, Chris, Katharine, and Paris are the lineup I'm going with otherwise =)

Posted by: Ian S. at March 14, 2006 10:00 PM

1. Chris
2. Taylor
3. Catherine

Bottom

Kevin
Melissa
Kellie

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 10:00 PM

Please, America, send Kevin home!

Posted by: Denise at March 14, 2006 10:00 PM

Really, PLEASE send Kevin home! If not him, then ACE.

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 10:01 PM

Ian...Katherine too!!!

Thanks.

Posted by: Timmer at March 14, 2006 10:02 PM

It will be Melissa. Kevin deserves it more but it will be Melissa.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 10:02 PM

You're probably right, CR. Sad but true.

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 10:03 PM

How come the songs aren't on the Godmonkey website anymmore? How come I'm in hell with this demon instead??

Posted by: Amanda at March 14, 2006 10:05 PM

If one of the contestants (say kevin) got into a car accident, would he lose his spot? Maybe we can frame him for pot possession--perhaps we can get a photo of kevin and bucky passing a joint. Kill two birds with one stone.

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 10:06 PM

What a marvelous idea. But you have to be sure the contestants have boddy guards.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 10:08 PM

Can I get Taylor and Bucky's songs too, please? amandacmuller -at- hotmail -dot-com

Posted by: Amanda at March 14, 2006 10:08 PM

ACK, not Bucky's! I meant CHRIS! Please don't send me Bucky's song!

Posted by: Amanda at March 14, 2006 10:08 PM

Amanda likes Bucky, Amanda likes Bucky. tee hee

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 10:10 PM

DO NOT! :-P

Posted by: Amanda at March 14, 2006 10:10 PM

Oh...my...god..please tell me hobag wasnt recording. Tell me that was just for the cameras. Please...

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 10:11 PM

You want to have hair as dreamy as his.

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 10:11 PM

Well, his locks did look exceptionally lustrous tonight...

Posted by: Amanda at March 14, 2006 10:12 PM

pert the two-in-one shampoo. Although two in one is impossible. The bottle would be overflowing if it really was two in one, the bottle will be all sticky.

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 10:13 PM

Hobag's life story is about to be told on Charlotte fox news.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 14, 2006 10:13 PM

I'm still fuming that Kevin is on the show. He was so bad. And his response to simon that he wasn't expecting a good review smacks of defeatism. He wasn't expecting a good review from Simon because he SUCKED

Posted by: Chad at March 14, 2006 10:22 PM

Chris, Katharine, Taylor, and Paris join the last 2 weeks at:

http://www.godmonkey.com/AI2006/

Usual rules apply - it closes at 9 AM EDT tomorrow. If you already gave an email address, I'll send them in a moment.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 14, 2006 10:38 PM

Hey Ian, could you upload Elliot's performance? I would be greatly appreciative

Posted by: Cody at March 14, 2006 10:48 PM

Thanks, Ian!!

Posted by: Beth at March 14, 2006 10:53 PM

From what I hear I have a feeling Taylor
will win. There's a song that should be
sung "I believe in music" by Gallery.
There's a good message in it.

Posted by: Donna at March 15, 2006 11:08 AM

Even in the closing of the show you could see that Kevin was sweating it...like he was looking for someone to give him reassurance that he belongs with that group, which he doesn't!

I'm totally loving Taylor. Not sure if he'll win, and his spaz moves are a bit weird, but I just love his looks.

Sick sick sick to death of twangy Pick Pickler. Thought Bucky looked like a girl.

And I love reading this whole commentary. You guys are great!

Posted by: Katie at March 15, 2006 11:37 AM

Oh yeah, I forgot...I totally noticed how Ace picked his eye and then looked at it!!! Almost made me barf!

And the judges kept complaining about how lifeless the songs were...well, hell! They're Stevie Wonder songs!

Posted by: Katie at March 15, 2006 11:39 AM

I need help! I'm in a high stakes AI Pool.
I have top three as: Lisa, Chris, Mandisa, Taylor, then Paris.
Any tips or changes I should make?
I read all the comments. Can Lisa win?
Thanks!

Posted by: Mandingo at March 15, 2006 06:35 PM

okay, I can't count. I meant to say "Top Five"
