Girls, 3/7

By Michele

I have company and I'm trying to get rid of them.

So go ahead and have fun in the comments, I'll be along a bit later.

Comments

Are they going to do any theme nights or are they waiting for the top 12?

Posted by: Timmer at March 7, 2006 08:02 PM

Paris the Tomboy doing Gloria. A decent opening. Better than last week's opening and better than her song last week. Not bad at all.

Posted by: Chris at March 7, 2006 08:04 PM

Paris kicking it with Miami Sound Machine.

Okay, she can move when she sings. Not bad, not bad atall.

Posted by: Timmer at March 7, 2006 08:04 PM

Hey Timmer & Chris!

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:04 PM

Probably wait until the final 12 for themes. I thought that's what they did last year.

Posted by: Chris at March 7, 2006 08:05 PM

I just think Paris is so adorable so I always think she's great.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:06 PM

Hey 'bama, how you doin'?

Posted by: Timmer at March 7, 2006 08:06 PM

Hey BamaPachyderm! Too funny, I have been on your blog several times and it was just last week I realized that's who you were!

Posted by: Chris at March 7, 2006 08:06 PM

There's doing Paris AND Lisa in the beginning? What's the point of watching after they're on?

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:07 PM

Okay Chris, we need to stop writing similar things, people are going to start talking.

Posted by: Timmer at March 7, 2006 08:07 PM

Yep, that's me. Watching my mouth, for a change since I'm "in public." ;-)

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:07 PM

I like Paris, but this performace was just aight for me. She sounded out of breath. I want to hear her do more of the jazzy songs, like she did in the city auditions.

Posted by: Amanda at March 7, 2006 08:08 PM

Maybe the others got better in a week? One can hope.

Posted by: Timmer at March 7, 2006 08:08 PM

OMG!!!

Come here Michele. Tell your company to go home! I've been meaning to introduce myself, but haven't done that yet for whatever reason. I found your blog on a gogle search for "american idol tonight" two weeks ago. I am desperate because I now live in Brazil and only get to watch idol the following week, so you are my ONLY live source I know of to follow the show. Pleeeeeeaaase don't leave me!!! LOL I'm looking forward to reading the posts and comments. Well, hello everyone! ;)

Posted by: Priscilla at March 7, 2006 08:08 PM

I'm imagining Michele going, "go home, I have to watch American Idol" to her guests. hahaha

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:09 PM

Great minds think alike Timmer!

Posted by: Chris at March 7, 2006 08:10 PM

But Beth PICK PICKLER is coming up too!

Posted by: Chris at March 7, 2006 08:11 PM

Lisa's cheating in her nose tonight. I hate hate hate that.

Posted by: Timmer at March 7, 2006 08:11 PM

Wow. Lisa is teh winner.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 7, 2006 08:12 PM

Yeah, after Paris and Lisa, the only reason to watch is Mandisa and Kelly.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 7, 2006 08:13 PM

Wow. Lisa is going to be hard to beat in the finals.

Posted by: Chris at March 7, 2006 08:13 PM

I hope this girl wins. I don't even want Chris Daughtry to win because he's too rockin' an AI lame-o monkey on the back.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:13 PM

Could somebody tell me what song Lisa sang?

Posted by: Priscilla at March 7, 2006 08:14 PM

and wtf does Simon want her to sing? Kiddie songs?

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:14 PM

Beth: beats the heck out of me. I don't even get Simon's comment that the Miami Sound Machine song was "young" (and 2 weeks ago "Wanted Dead or Alive" was "current" - are the judges stuck in a time warp in 1991?).

Posted by: Ian S. at March 7, 2006 08:16 PM

I stg I can't keep most of these chicks straight. What's this one's name again?
I can't stand her.

Meanwhile, Ann & Nancy Wilson are pissed.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:16 PM

by the way, I want to thank... err... i can't remember who it was... for the mp3s last week. well, thank YOU very much.

Posted by: Priscilla at March 7, 2006 08:16 PM

Melissa winning the night so far. That was great up until the end. right in her voice range. The end was bad though.

Posted by: Chris at March 7, 2006 08:16 PM

hahahahaa Simon!

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:17 PM

I'm with Simon - that last note blew the glass out of my patio doors.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 7, 2006 08:18 PM

Simon's right in that she's going home. She is one of the weak links of the final 8.

Posted by: Chris at March 7, 2006 08:18 PM

That's rockin' out? Damn, she's weak.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:18 PM

totally ignored... LOL

should i have auditioned or somethin to be here?

Posted by: Priscilla at March 7, 2006 08:19 PM

nobody's ignoring you Priscilla...we're just here so everyone else can read our brilliant thoughts. ;-)

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:20 PM

I believe Ian was the provider Priscilla.

Posted by: Chris at March 7, 2006 08:21 PM

Priscilla: TiVo says "Where I Stand" by Tiffany Taylor. Never heard of it.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 7, 2006 08:21 PM

Lisa sang something I've never heard before Priscilla, sorry.

Posted by: Timmer at March 7, 2006 08:22 PM

I'll do mp3s again this week - be sure to poke me about songs you want. So far it looks like Paris and Lisa from tonight.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 7, 2006 08:22 PM

Ian, any chance of getting a hold of the Levon by Taylor from 2 weeks ago?

Posted by: Chris at March 7, 2006 08:23 PM

Are you guys as blown away by Katherine as Simon is? 'Cause I'm not. She's good, but totally forgettable.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:23 PM

Chris: yes, it is.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 7, 2006 08:24 PM

Kinnick doin' Alicia Keys.

Kinda flat.

Posted by: Timmer at March 7, 2006 08:24 PM

Kinnik is going home with Melissa. Blah.

Posted by: Chris at March 7, 2006 08:24 PM

Ian, Levon, poke-poke.

Posted by: Timmer at March 7, 2006 08:25 PM

And this one bugs me because of her forehead. I can't stop thinking "cut bangs" when I look at her, and then the song's over.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:25 PM

Randy says sharp...I have to recalibrate the Bose again.

Posted by: Timmer at March 7, 2006 08:26 PM

I'm putting a vote in for "downers" as what Paula's on tonight.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 7, 2006 08:26 PM

I know what's going on, "dude," she's isn't that good.

Shocker: Paula isn't slobbering over her?

CHICLETS! hahahahaa

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:27 PM

Yay! Thanks for the replies! And again thanks a LOT Ian, it was fabulous! I enjoy this gooofing around here, you guys are great! I'll end up seeing the show tomorrow getting a torrent most probably. I'm just sooo curious! ;)

Posted by: Priscilla at March 7, 2006 08:27 PM

downers or serious pain killers...

Posted by: Timmer at March 7, 2006 08:27 PM

no kidding, Ian, she's acting like she's on 'ludes.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:28 PM

and here we are with the commercials being a hundred times better than the songs on AI.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:28 PM

Anyone know the song Kinnik did?

Posted by: Newt at March 7, 2006 08:28 PM

All right! Katherine! Hopefully she'll bounce back. Beth: Not blown away by her, but a fan. I hope she makes it far.

Posted by: Chris at March 7, 2006 08:29 PM

Beats me, Newt, I was busy staring at the vast expanse of her forehead.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:30 PM

They never said what Kinnik's song was - I just backed up on TiVo.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 7, 2006 08:30 PM

Beth: Not only better singing, but more entertaining. That Burger King chicken riding commercial looked like something Paula tripped up on her last pill...

Posted by: Chris at March 7, 2006 08:31 PM

OMG, "McFever?" Ugh.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:32 PM

I missed the BK one, but the Coke one rocks.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:32 PM

This is a TOTAL karaoke performance.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 7, 2006 08:33 PM

I actually like Katherine's voice...but it's sort of like my feelings for Prince. I can listen, but I don't wanna watch.

Think.

New rule. Leave Aretha the hell alone. You don't got the pipes or the attitude for it.

Posted by: Timmer at March 7, 2006 08:33 PM

Did anyone else notice Melissa whoring it up for the camera tonight?

Posted by: Chad at March 7, 2006 08:33 PM

Katharine continues to surprise me. She's doing a good job.

And she's got some definite junk in that trunk!

Posted by: Amanda at March 7, 2006 08:33 PM

Paris or Lisa would kick her ass to the curb with this song. I'm still not a fan.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:33 PM

Tim: Yeah. It was competant, but she had nothing near Aretha's power or range.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 7, 2006 08:34 PM

I'm digging katharine's smile this week.

Posted by: Chad at March 7, 2006 08:35 PM

Bold song choice though. Not for the feint of heart. I thought she was good. Possibly the best of the night.

Posted by: Chris at March 7, 2006 08:35 PM

Chad I think Melissa has that whorish look anyway. Something about her screams "trailer trash" to me.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:35 PM

Figures, I closed my eyes and she shook her junk.

Posted by: Timmer at March 7, 2006 08:35 PM

Beth: I totally agree. When she Melissa gets cut tomorrow I gaurantee she'll blame the producers for not giving her more airtime.

Posted by: chad at March 7, 2006 08:36 PM

I am gonna fucking barf if that "McFever" thing sticks.

YAY! Commercial time!

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:36 PM

Wow, what's up with Ayla's early-90's hair bubble? She'd better be singing something that makes that appropriate...

Posted by: Amanda at March 7, 2006 08:37 PM

Okay, I'm not sure if this has come up before, but why in the name of Mohammed on a Moped would you name your girl after the lead in "Clan of the Cave Bear?" How did she feel when she saw Daryl Hannah in the movie? No wonder she's full of attitude.

Posted by: Timmer at March 7, 2006 08:37 PM

So wait, Katharine is NOT pregnant? I didn't even know that was a rumor.

Posted by: Chad at March 7, 2006 08:37 PM

Timmer, have you read the books, or only seen the movie? I've heard the movie sucked with teeth, but the books are fantastic. I've actually considered naming my daughter Ayla, if I ever have one.

Posted by: Amanda at March 7, 2006 08:38 PM

Mandisa coming up. She's my pic this year. Anyone know where I can find an MP3 of her singing last week?

Posted by: C. Rose at March 7, 2006 08:38 PM

C-Rose, i can get you mandisa's performance from last week. Email me chadpad@aol.com

Posted by: chad at March 7, 2006 08:39 PM

Ayla was also the name of one of the Jedi in Star Wars. Unlike this Ayla, that one had the force with her. This one should go to the dark side tonight...

Posted by: Chris at March 7, 2006 08:42 PM

Amanda, I haven't read them but my wife and daughter have and they agree with you, the movie was teh suck.

Sort of like this song.

Posted by: Timmer at March 7, 2006 08:42 PM

She's so goddamn boring it makes me cry.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:42 PM

Beth, I couldn't agree with you more. Even Paula looked bored

Posted by: chad at March 7, 2006 08:43 PM

Either Paula is sober tonight for the first time, or she IS seriously on downers.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:43 PM

And she was doing the bounce-squat.

Posted by: Timmer at March 7, 2006 08:44 PM

HA! She was totally doing that, Timmer!

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:45 PM

Oh yeah. Mandisa always seems to pick the best songs for her voice.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 7, 2006 08:46 PM

Yay! I forget who murdered this song last season, but it's a pleasure to hear it from Mandisa.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 7, 2006 08:46 PM

Mandisa owns this song!

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:46 PM

Yes. Yes she is every woman.. .. I really apologize for that joke but it was too easy. Hands down best of the night so far. Got my cingular phone ready to go. BTW, love finding this board.

Posted by: chad at March 7, 2006 08:46 PM

almost fell apart on that last verse but nice.

Posted by: Timmer at March 7, 2006 08:47 PM

WOW! Unbelievable. This is the only performance that makes me want to call tonight. The Winner so far.

Posted by: Chris at March 7, 2006 08:47 PM

Yo, peeps!

Melissa McGhee did well tonight. I actually remembered her five minutes later.

Going home: I think it's Melissa, Kinnik or maybe Ayla.

Posted by: Denise at March 7, 2006 08:47 PM

Wow, it even woke Paula up.

Posted by: Timmer at March 7, 2006 08:48 PM

w00t! Paula even woke up! hahaha

Mandisa's shit was too good for AI tonight. Awesome.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:48 PM

GMTA Beth.

Posted by: Timmer at March 7, 2006 08:49 PM

Poor Pick Pickler, has to follow that. Wow. Tough break especially for a middle of the packer.

Posted by: Chris at March 7, 2006 08:49 PM

I'm sayin' nobody's going to come anywhere close to her performance tonight--nobody left is any good. She pwns it for the night.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:50 PM

Beth: Since only Pick Pickler is left, that's a given.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 7, 2006 08:51 PM

I was going to say GMTA too Timmer, but I figured I'd see if you said it first. It'd be too freaky if we both wrote GMTA at the same time. ;-)

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:51 PM

Only Pickler? I can't keep track of who's left at all. Poor Pick Pickler, sucks to be her sorry ass.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:52 PM

So, Mandisa, Elliot, and Chris are my picks to be in the top four this year.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 7, 2006 08:52 PM

C. Rose, it's on the way. I sent you two of her performances. I'll have today's uploaded in a few hours.

Posted by: chad at March 7, 2006 08:53 PM

Taylor, Chris, Elliot, Mandisa

Posted by: chad at March 7, 2006 08:53 PM

Oh my god, the producers used this fire image last week. Come on Fox, splurge a little.

Posted by: chad at March 7, 2006 08:54 PM

NOT her song. So not.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:54 PM

Kellie trying to do Melissa.

I'm the Only One.

I don't believe a word she's singing.

Posted by: Timmer at March 7, 2006 08:54 PM

Ok, she went so sharp there I'd call it atonal.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 7, 2006 08:54 PM

Oh, come on, that wasn't that bad. The biggest problem was that she had to follow Mandissa. 2nd place tonight.

Posted by: Chris at March 7, 2006 08:55 PM

Paula is so on quaaludes.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:55 PM

Thanks Chad. Im really gratefull. On a side-note, Kelly always does ok. But she's just so much like Carrey that she can't win, and I dont want to get attached to her.

Posted by: C. Rose at March 7, 2006 08:56 PM

Sorry Paula, I am not in love with Kellie Pickler. Even if she is a naughty little minx.

Posted by: chad at March 7, 2006 08:56 PM

Whoa! Simon's secret fantasies!

Posted by: Ian S. at March 7, 2006 08:56 PM

Does anybody know what Natasha Bedingfield song Ayla sang? (I think it was Ayla.)

Posted by: Denise at March 7, 2006 08:56 PM

did he really just say that?

Posted by: lyn at March 7, 2006 08:56 PM

Okay, I'm going for my wife's diabetes meds. She's too sweet for me.

Posted by: Timmer at March 7, 2006 08:57 PM

Simon going a little overboard. Wow. That's a bit much for a decent performance especially when the previous one blew her off the stage.

Posted by: Chris at March 7, 2006 08:58 PM

Simon Says she's great if she keeps her mouth shut. Heh.

I'm saying Mandisa and Lisa were the best tonight, and Melissa was teh suck.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:58 PM

No, Ayla was teh suck too.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 08:59 PM

hey, what was it he said??? - remember i can't watch idol live.

Posted by: Priscilla at March 7, 2006 08:59 PM

Lisa should never have straightened her hair. NEVER change looks when no one hardly knows ya. Sheesh.

Posted by: chad at March 7, 2006 08:59 PM

1. Mandissa
2. Pick Pickler
3. Katherine

Going home:
Melissa, Kinnik.

Posted by: Chris at March 7, 2006 08:59 PM

Simon called Kellie a "Little Minx" She had no clue what it meant.

Posted by: chad at March 7, 2006 08:59 PM

Pris, he said "you're not the greatest singer, but I like you" and a bunch of silly fawning.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 09:00 PM

"Naughty Little Minx" to be specific.

Posted by: Timmer at March 7, 2006 09:00 PM

He also said her preferred her to Carrie Underwood. That's a bit much.

Posted by: Chris at March 7, 2006 09:00 PM

Ayla's song was "Unwritten."

Posted by: Amanda at March 7, 2006 09:01 PM

You guys like Elliott? He bores me. I like the pothead Bucky, and of course Chris Daughtry.

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 09:01 PM

I like Elliott when I close my eyes. But when I open them, he's too weird looking for me...sorry, I'm so superficial!

Posted by: Amanda at March 7, 2006 09:02 PM

i was referring to the comment he made that he prefers pickler to carrie underwood.. blahhh

Posted by: lyn at March 7, 2006 09:02 PM

hahahahaha i have to look up minx myself.

Posted by: Priscilla at March 7, 2006 09:03 PM

Amanda, it's AI. We're supposed to be superficial!

I guess Michele couldn't kick out the houseguests!

Posted by: Beth at March 7, 2006 09:03 PM

Chris just needs a really really good dentist, as does Bucky. But Bucky wears his teeth better.

Posted by: chad at March 7, 2006 09:03 PM

Yeah, I like Elliot. Great voice. Can't get over the gas station attendant or carnival concessions vendor look though.

Posted by: Chris at March 7, 2006 09:03 PM

Thanks, Amanda

Posted by: Denise at March 7, 2006 09:03 PM

Simon's comments to Kellie was a bit much. I don't know whether to be worried or just grossed out.

Who's Elliot again? Half these people I can't even remember.

Posted by: Denise at March 7, 2006 09:05 PM

Beth, if it had been me, i'd have watched it and told the guests to be quiet. I have actually done that already...

Posted by: Priscilla at March 7, 2006 09:08 PM

C.Rose, just so you know, the sound quality is a bit off on those as they are mono-ed out. The same track is left right

Posted by: chad at March 7, 2006 09:08 PM

Its no problem. They sound wonderfull to me. I used to get all my mp3s from AmericanIdolByRequest, but they took all their stuff down. Thanks again for the songs!

Posted by: C. Rose at March 7, 2006 09:12 PM

Stereo 192kbps will be in effect momentarily, I'm chasing down Chris' request right now.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 7, 2006 09:17 PM

YAY!!! I love you, Ian S.

Posted by: Priscilla at March 7, 2006 09:19 PM

Thanks Ian. It's appreciated

Posted by: Chris at March 7, 2006 09:22 PM

Ian, what about Mandisa's Never? ;)

Posted by: Priscilla at March 7, 2006 09:24 PM

Priscilla - What week was that?

Posted by: Ian S. at March 7, 2006 09:27 PM

And if it's not too much to ask, Gedeon's last week's song?

Posted by: Priscilla at March 7, 2006 09:28 PM

humm.. Mandisa's is the top 24 week Feb, 21st - and Gedeon's is the top 20, March 1st.

Posted by: Priscilla at March 7, 2006 09:30 PM

My TiVo likes to auto-delete the 2 hour AIs, so I may not have 2/21 anymore, but I'll check.

Meanwhile: http://www.godmonkey.com/AI2006/

Everything that was there last week still is, and there's now 4 new songs. As usual, it'll be there until 9 AM EDT tomorrow only, so grab while you can.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 7, 2006 09:32 PM

Ian - Great quality, putting Levon into my ipod now. Rock. Also, thanks to all for making me home here on my first night. Cheers to superficial AI viewing.

Posted by: chad at March 7, 2006 09:41 PM

Gedeon's "Change Is Gonna Come" is up now too. Sorry, I don't have 2/21 anymore for the Mandisa.

Posted by: Ian S. at March 7, 2006 09:42 PM

No prob, thanks for trying, Ian! You're fabulously generous!

Posted by: Priscilla at March 7, 2006 09:48 PM

Michelle, I thought that you may be interested in knowing that I have published a new book, Actualities in Black & Orange, based on photographs I created last year. The photographs feature people and events in the background of the Orange Campaign for Gush Katif.

The first photographs in the collection were shown in Gush Katif in late June last year and are currently on display at the Gush Etzion Judaica Center.

You can view the photographs on my site at www.MenachemKuchar.com. Thank you.

Menachem

PS We're still send pizza and goodies out to our soldiers :-)
