Final Elimination Prediction

By Michele

It came to me last night as I was watching the show. Carrie is going to win. It's almost as if it was pre-determined. And I don't mean that in a conspiracy-theory, scandal kind of way. When I first saw Carrie on AI this season, I pegged her as the perfect AI winner, in the eyes of the producers. And you have to be really, really naive to think that the producers don't have the final say.

Which is all well and good. Like last year, the winner will go on to have a mediocre career. Carrie will be playing state fairs by this time next year, but she'll have put in a whole year of touring and schilling for AI so they'll get their money's worth from her. Bo will have more of a career, but, like most AI winners, he will fade from the spotlight before long as well. I predict that Bo and Constantine will have some kind of reality show on VH1 by next year.

My pick (but not my choice) is therefore Carrie.

Bo is probably better off in 2nd place. He'll have a little more freedom with his career. However, I do think Carrie is the kind of winner the show was created to find. Bo is a professional musician who just never got the lucky break, until now. I don't think Carrie had ever sang in a venue larger than her church.

I also think your wrong about her career. Cute and as far as we know wholesome blond from OK with a good voice? They've been drooling since week 2 or 3 in Nashville. I say she is opening for Martina McBride within a year.

Last year's country idol Josh Grabin (sp?) has had a couple of #1 songs on the country charts. If I weer a Nashville exec I'd sign her ASAP, throw together a record of generic country pop tunes, and put her on the road with Grabin.

Dude, how are the previous winners fading from the spotlight? Kelly Clarkson is STILL racking up top 10 hits, and Clay Aiken is still all over the place (okay he came in #2 but still). Ruben's "Soulful" album went double platinum.

Problem is old farts like you and me don't listen to the stations that play their stuff. ;-)

Simon may just have his first pop-country star on his hands, and I suspect that Bo's going to do very well if he gets the right producer. Depends on how much they try to make him a pop star or just let him be a rock guy. It's going to be interested to hear his guitar playing and some of his own songs too.

Dean, my mind hasn't been the same since I bought that game you recommended. I blame you if anything I say is retarded. You killed my head.
