Elimination Night 5/18

By Michele

It's time. Make your predictions now if you got 'em.

Those bastards got to go see Revenge of the Sith? Like they even care! Hmmph.

As usual, I'm going to make myself busy while they do all this feel-good crap.

We have to listen to them sing AGAIN? Just get the hell on with this so I can go to bed.

Awwww Bo is so cute!

(I can't believe I just wrote that)

I just don't like that they make them sing the same songs again. It's overkill. They should do something else, like make them answer questions straight out of a beauty pageant.

"Carrie, if you had one wish what would it be?"
"World peace, of course. And to feed all the children. And to ride Bo like a wild stallion!"

Ok, I do love watching Bo perform.

Mmm...bo..peform....

Anyhow, the Willy Wonka commercials freak me out.

The governor proudly proclaims that today is Carrie's Underwear Day!

Ok, so I'm overtired and I've been hitting the margaritas.

Ok, finally. Let's get this done.

Yep. Vonzelle is going home. That's really too bad. I enjoyed the hell out of watching her. She was by far one of my favorite contestants this year overall.

She has a career in show biz ahead of her. She's pretty, charming and talented.

That said, Bo is going to kick Carrie's ass back to Okie.

I'm not sure I can listen to Bo singing about anything going down on him again.

Posted by: Tanya at May 18, 2005 09:11 PM

Yeah, but he MET Skynyrd!

Posted by: kat at May 18, 2005 09:13 PM

Holy shit...and sung with them.

Posted by: kat at May 18, 2005 09:13 PM

Oh shit, how cool, singing with the LS guys. Bo's so it.

Posted by: Faith at May 18, 2005 09:14 PM

Even better - he SANG with Skynyrd.

Posted by: Kathleen at May 18, 2005 09:14 PM

Err, did everyone leave immediately last night? Some guy posted a link to complete videos of all the songs Bo did with Skynyrd :)

Posted by: Ian S. at May 18, 2005 09:15 PM

It's even better than last night? Is that possible?

Posted by: Timmer at May 18, 2005 09:15 PM

Now that's how to make love to the camera. Connie should have taken a lesson.

Posted by: Faith at May 18, 2005 09:16 PM

Wow.

Again.

Just...Wow.

Posted by: kat at May 18, 2005 09:17 PM

I'm late... but I saw Bo. Yummmmmm....

I honestly can't guess who's out, Vonzell or Carrie. If I had to bet it would have to be on the Vonz, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say Carrie. Just to be different. ;)

Posted by: DonnaK at May 18, 2005 09:18 PM

he...hehehe...michele said "perform"

Posted by: Timmer at May 18, 2005 09:19 PM

I predict now that there's no pressure, Carrie will do her best performance.

Posted by: Timmer at May 18, 2005 09:21 PM

BTW... anyone else get the impression that Vonzell is going to turn into a diva *really* quickly? On the other hand, both Bo and Carrie seem really grounded. Hmmmm....

Posted by: DonnaK at May 18, 2005 09:22 PM

Oh ew. I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Can you get any sappier than "Carrie Underwood Day"?

Posted by: kat at May 18, 2005 09:22 PM

Okay...I was wrong.

Posted by: Timmer at May 18, 2005 09:23 PM

Next person who uses that throwing up phrase is getting a huge ass kicking and their mouth washed out with pepto.

Right Timmer, she's sucking.

Posted by: Faith at May 18, 2005 09:24 PM

Hey...she's got an instant deviled ham tie-in when she's done.

Posted by: Timmer at May 18, 2005 09:24 PM

This is definitely better than she did last night, but still not Bo-quality.

Posted by: Ian S. at May 18, 2005 09:25 PM

Try though she may, she's no kd lang.

Posted by: Kathleen at May 18, 2005 09:25 PM

I don't know... I thought Carrie did better with that song tonight. *shrug*

Posted by: DonnaK at May 18, 2005 09:25 PM

Yeah...but she really shouldn't do KD...wait...let me try that again...

Posted by: Timmer at May 18, 2005 09:27 PM

Are we meeting for the worst auditions? Huh, Huh, can we, huh?

Posted by: Timmer at May 18, 2005 09:28 PM

duh.

Posted by: kat at May 18, 2005 09:29 PM

Vonzell's out! I'm not surprised, and the finals should be amazing.

Way to go Bo!

Posted by: DonnaK at May 18, 2005 09:30 PM

bummer

Posted by: Timmer at May 18, 2005 09:30 PM

I'm so sad. :(

Posted by: Faith at May 18, 2005 09:30 PM

Oh yuck. Group song last.

And here I thought we'd get away without it.

Posted by: kat at May 18, 2005 09:31 PM

That sucks. Vonzell is SO much more of a performer than the fembot. And how much class does she have, that she can still sing and sound great after that?

Posted by: Kathleen at May 18, 2005 09:31 PM

Wow. Vonzell is proving just how much of a mistake that was.

Posted by: Ian S. at May 18, 2005 09:33 PM

I never thought she had the best voice...but she was one of the better performers overall.

Posted by: Timmer at May 18, 2005 09:33 PM

I had forgotten that Vonzell was the girl in the mismatched shoes.

Posted by: Tanya at May 18, 2005 09:38 PM

"Now that's how to make love to the camera. Connie should have taken a lesson."

Yeah, Constantine, don't kick the camera. Luuuv the camera.

Vonzelle saved the group song from being totally death-warmed-over. That was bad, and it was really stupid to put it at the end.

Posted by: denise at May 18, 2005 09:44 PM

wait, so, vonzell's out, i just got home from work.....

Posted by: bigdawg at May 18, 2005 10:05 PM

So, the battle of the century has come to pass.

Bo vs. Carrie. No voting stupidity.

Not a big suprise. The Vonz didn't have the Force with her this year. It's an all-caucasian final. No miasmic runs.

I bet folks ears have gotten tired of the 'run-on' r&b vocalists this year. Up until now, that's been the standard that was set by all 3 former winners. The winner this year will NOT sound like an amateur Aretha or Luther.

Will Carrie get more than a 1-up recording contract?
(Rumor has it RCA Nashville already has the instde track, followed closely by Curb).

As for Bo: yes, I posted the URL for the home video versions of the concert in Helena on Saturday, sans Freebird.

For those who don't know: Bo had performed before with folks from the Allmans, but not Skynyrd.

Lastly: seperated at birth -

Bo Bice & Travis Tritt

Close your eyes & listen to Travis Tritt's version of Freebird on Skynyrd & Friends album. Scary.

"I bet folks ears have gotten tired of the 'run-on' r&b vocalists this year."

Disagree. There has been more parity with this group than previous AI groups. Also, Bo Bice has been so unique among the AI contestants which is why he stands out. Carrie, to me, isn't unique as an AI contestant. Which is why Bo is getting my votes.

Posted by: Solomon at May 19, 2005 08:39 AM

Bo's hot and talented. Carrie is just blah. I wish that she was sent home in a torrent of tears. buh bye country girl. Vonzie of course was being sent home. Even though she doesn't have as good as a voice as Carrie, she's got everything else. I hope she stabs Carrie with a fork before she leaves.

Carrie makes John Stevens look like Fred Durst on stage.

My mom makes John Stevens look like Carrie Underwear on stage.
