Er...
By Stacy
I would just like to know...WTF could Gene Simmons possibly know about singing?
I don't know, but he knows a whole lot about faking talent, which is what a lot of the contestants do, anyhow.
I loved Kiss, still do, but they were/are hacks with great marketing skills.

The marketing aspect is still what some of these people just do not get, even the ones with legitimate singing voices. But I suppose that's what record companies are for.

Gene may be the ultimate judge for American Idol, which has been nothing but a search for the most marketable lounge singer quality performer each year. Let's face it, none of the winners has been that talented, but they've been marketed well, and, after all, isn't that what Simon is looking for?

I have no idea. When I think of Gene Simmons and subjects he might be knowledgeable about - singing definitely isn't something that comes to mind.
He is kinda umm.. homely ... without make-up.
Oh well.. I'll still listen to KISS.

Would he just get over that thing he has against Christians already? I know he hasn't been big in the music biz for I don't know how many decades, but since he left, pop isn't all about "sexuality" any more. (Though maybe for him it is)
How long has he been watching American Idol, if ever? You don't think a Christian artist can make it because of American Idol? One already did - RJ Helton. Another - Ruben Studdard - has got a gospel album out.
Christian groups like Switchfoot, POD and mxPX have been blended into the mainstream enough that now you can hear them on hard rock stations next to Korn and Staind.
Gene, get off that broken record...
