Thurm or Jorgie Boy?
Seems like I rankled quite a few people when I postulated that Posada is the top Yankee catcher in the DBG era. Sentiments seem to be in favor of Thurman Munson. So to be scientific about this. . . drum roll please. . . it's poll of the week time! Yay!!!!!!! Vote now on which catcher catches your fancy. Is it Jorgie or the late, great Thurman?

I really think this is on the "no brainer" level. Thurman Munson was a horse years before they won those World Series in '77-78. He played no matter what; sometimes barely able to stand because he took such a beating day in and day out.
Everyone knows the name John Flaherty if asked who is Jorge's relief receiver, like you can say Girardi brought Posada along; well, who backed the Cap? There's a name you can win bar bets with.
There was never even a thought of anyone else catching for the Yankees in the Seventies. Every day, hell or whatever was bruised or busted, #15 was behind the plate. He was the goddamn wall squatting there at home. All shit stops here!
