Ho Hum

Another day. Another loss. Back at sea level. Beginning to wonder whether this team has what it takes to be legit contender this year. Actually, I've been wondering that most of the season.

But it's hard to put a finger on what's wrong, except that they continue to play uninspired baseball. Case in point. A-Rod failing to cover third on a bunt last night while Posada nonetheless instructs the pitcher to throw there. Where was A-Rod? Eating a hot dog? Is Posada blind?

Seems to be more proof that throwing together a bunch of superstars rather than developing a team doesn't work. The 1996-2001 Yankees were special. They've lost that specialness.
