This Day in Yankee History

1955 Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle blasts home runs from both sides of the plate for the first time in his major league career. The New York Yankee slugger finishes the game with three home runs and drives in all of his teamís runs in a 5-2 win over the Detroit Tigers. Mantle hits two home runs left-handed and one right-handed.

1967 Mickey Mantle's 500th home run, off Stu Miller, lifted the New York Yankees to a 6-5 victory over the Baltimore Orioles.
