Remind You of Anybody?

The second-class citizen that is the Bandwagoner is a shallow soul who sees nothing wrong with professing love for a team who has no identifiable ties or obvious reasons for affection other than that they are quite simply, at the time, successful.

Hey, I'd like to read that - I can't get to the link though for some reason - comes up an error. Plus I got distracted by the 50 Worst Hairstyles article looking for it. It's pretty amusing.

A-fricking-men to all of it. Best. Movie Review. Ever.

Why'd I know you'd dig it just as much, Solly?

Because, as opposed to those poseurs, you could actually explain "Pesky's Pole."

The only thing that they left out was the unwritten rule that hot chicks are ALWAYS welcome on the bandwagon.

Alabama, I'll rat you out!

Heh. To answer your question, that reminds me of me. I was the kid who jumped ship in 1967 and became a life-long Sox fan...even though I lived on Long Island. I wanted to grow up and be Yaz (another LI'er). I can't tell you how many times (usually in years such as 1975, 1978, 1986) I was told by friends and family alike that I could just drop the Sox and become a Yankees fan, and that there would be no "shame" in doing so because, by birthright, I should be a Yankees fan. But that's not the way things work for a fan, is it.

Well, depends on your age when you went heathen(!). The article gave youngsters dispensation (the Stabauch Clause), as long as they didn't give up. Sounds like that covers you.
