Second Coming?

With the Yanks looking old and slow, maybe they want to find a taker for Tony Womack and dip down into Triple A for an injection of badly needed youth and energy:

"Yankee second-base prospect Robinson Cano carried over a positive spring training into a strong start in which he produced nine extra-base hits in his first nine games for Triple-A Columbus, including three homers and a .395 average.

"'That kid can play," Don Mattingly said. 'He's going to hit and he has a chance to be a real good player. He has Ruben [Sierra] rhythm at the plate and a guy like that is going to end up having pop.'"
