Red Sox Is The Name, Torture The Game
Really, I suppose its not much of a surprise, but the big Red torture machine is expanding the franchise. Admittedly, this time it appears the Red Sox will be torturing for the good guys (namely the U.S.) but all this really proves is that it is possible to screw-up in reverse once in a while.
Apparently Red Sox minority share owner Phillip Morse has rented his jet to the CIA to fly baddies in and out of Git-mo. Not satisfied with torturing their fans once more as another "season of promise" melts away to oblivion, Mr. Morse's jet may be used to ferry passengers to remote locations where information can be extracted without the laws of the U.S. getting in the way.
All involved have been suspiciously silent as to whether or not the Red Sox organization itself will be used. One can only imagine the possibilities......prisoners will be forced to meet Johnny Damon, the only man in baseball with personal grooming habits that are far worse than their own....travel to a plug ugly ballpark that locals consider some sort of shrine (one wonders to what?)....and of course any interaction with the white knucked fans desparately trying to fend off the realization of one more failed season would have these guys spilling their guts just to get away.
One must also question Mr. Morse. Here is a man already rich beyond the dreams of most U.S. citizens, having plundered the insurance policies of those in need of cardiac catheters. Now, instead of loaning his plane free of charge to the CIA to get the bad guys, he views it as another money making opportunity. I suppose, after his association with the Sox, it really is possible to have no shame.
