It's Funny

Johnny Damon's injury is not funny, but this story is:

Center fielder Johnny Damon is battling a case of cellulitis that has left him with a baseball-sized lump in his groin and another lump on his right ankle. Damon is responding to antibiotics, his fever has lessened and he is feeling stronger but - after missing his third straight game yesterday - he is still a few days away from returning to action.

Cellulitis is an acute inflammation of skin tissue usually caused by bacterial infection, although Damon is at a loss about how he contracted it. It is believed that the bacteria was introduced somehow via a wound in his ankle. He has been fishing during spring training, and doctors suspect that exposure to some bacteria in the water is one possibility or else it could be as random as a spider bite. All Damon knows is that he was feeling fine until Monday morning.

"It's weird how it started - (Monday) I got up out of my chair here before shooting the 'Queer Eye' first part of the show and I had about a quarter-sized lump next to my groin and I was like, 'Ah, this is pretty weird.'"

Just seeing talk of lumps, groins and 'Queer Eye' is funny.

Yankees ballplayers were on Seinfeld. Red Sox players are primping themselves on 'Queer Eye For The Straight Guy.'

The Yankees don't need any help in the "fag" department, they already have A-Rod leading the way.
