Hall of Fame: breaking with tradition
There were way too many suggestions in the cover songs category to even narrow it down to a poll. I think there would have been no point, anyhow. I'm just going to go ahead and name the winner without a vote.
JOHNNY CASH
FOR HIS COVER OF NIN'S HURT
(PS kept crashing, so no trophy tonight)
I have no new category yet, still listening to suggestions (what about best live album?). But here's one of my favorite cover songs ever. The last minute alone is worth the download.
his name is dio....ronnie james dio....

Excellent choice!!
That must have been a difficult decision, but I think Johnny put so much emotion into that cover, that it totally came to life all over again. It's a well-deserved award.

Oh, and I listened to the mp3. I'm still trying to wash my ears out with soap! Ronnie James Dio doing Rio???? Even for those few second, that was just WRONG!

It's good to be King.
And it's a worthy choice.

That poser Reznor should have packed it in after Cash re-did that tune... it is SO much better than the original.

Awesome choice. I didn't know he even covered since I don't have much of his recent stuff, but just got it, and it's great.

Best live album? Might as well call that off right now, too.
Johnny Cash, "Live At Folsom Prison"
