Because Gary Oldman WAS Sid Vicious!!!
And because my daughter, my girlfriend, and I agree on this--and that spans nearly 3 generations. That's gotta mean something.
Spinal Tap was tempting, especially since I'm a musician (who needed to keep the day job, if you know what I mean) and I can relate to a lot of the "inside" jokes.
But the grit of Sid and Nancy, the stellar performances by Gary Oldman and Nancy, er, Chloe Webb, the vintage Sex Pistols footage, and Sid's My Way video--it can't be beat.
By the way, just finished watching Shaun of the Dead, and now Iggy Pop is on TV. What a great followup to the Yank's victory!

I'm copying the testimonial I left in the nominations. Because I'm lazy.
I have to go with "Tommy". Absolutely fantastic music. An incredible collection of rock legends. What other movie offers you cameos by Eric Clapton, Elton John, Tina Turner, Pete Townshend, John Entwhistle, and Keith Moon? Plus it stars a young Roger Daltrey. Who, let's face it, was amazingly hot.

Gotta be Tommy. First Tock Opera. Furthermore, if they made it today Ann Margret in the scene with the body pillow and beans wouldn't mske it pass the cencors.

The Wall is best watched with the commentary on. It turns a serious and somewhat grim movie into (I kid you not) a comedy. Apparently, a couple of decades' worth of perspective turns stress around big time.
Spinal Tap for sure. Because many of those on the list take themselves way too seriously.

I wrote in a vote for Light Of Day, but I'm completely shocked that School Of Rock is currently beating Sid And Nancy by a vote of 73 to 5. I enjoyed School Of Rock, but fer cryin' out loud...
