Listomatic: Guilty Smiles

It just came up on the LaunchCast and made me smile, wide. It's not a great song by any stretch of the imagination. It just makes me smile for reasons that have nothing to do with the music or lyrics. That, and some people have begun to associate me with the song, which is cool. In a lame but cool way.
Other not-so-great songs that make me smile, sing, dance, whatnot for various reasons:
- The Archies - Sugar, Sugar
- Journey - Don't Stop Believing
- Bon Jovi - Wanted Dead or Alive
- Poison - Talk Dirty to Me
- Ring ring ring ring BANANAPHONE!
- Eddie Murphy - Party All the Time
- Brothers Johnson - Strawberry Letter 23*
- Air Supply - All Out of Love
- Everclear - Santa Monica
*Lots of people think this is a terrible song. Personally, I think it's one of the greatest songs ever recorded.

The Brothers Johnson are very underappreciated. "Strawberry Letter #23" is pop purity in my opinion.

you know what songs make me smile? songs i used to love, but now that i hear them i realize they're crappy. but they still make me smile... it's the nostalgia factor.
sadly, my current obsession is with "Call to the Heart" by Giuffria. sadly, i'm the only one i know who remembers that song. [doink]

I'm glad I'm not the only one who appreciates the sheer pop perfection of "Party All the Time."
I knew I lurved you for a reason.

Night Ranger is right up there for my guilty pleasures list. They opened for Heart at my very first concert way back in 1983.

Walking on Sunshine... sure, it's a terrible song and pure schlock, but I can't for the life of me resist grinning and tapping my toe when I hear it. Sometimes I even get out of my chair.
... and don't it feel good!

I think that Brothers Johnson song is cool! But if I had to pick one of their songs, it would be Stomp.

Sister Christian is an amazingly good song. One of the best of Night Ranger's impressive repetoires.

Even after all the parodies.
Even after all the bad commentary.
Even after the horse has been beaten and dead for years.
I STILL adore Bananaphone.
