Matchbox 20 frontman Rob Thomas has rubbished reports he had sex with Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise - and is even more mortified he's been labeled a fellow Scientologist. The singer is horrified by claims he was caught in bed with the War Of The Worlds star and has finally spoken out to end the rumors. But he's even more offended by reports he's joined Cruise and other followers of L. Ron Hubbard's Church Of Scientology, which has been labeled a "cult" by some critics. He says, "If I were gay, Tom wouldn't be on the top of my list...It would be Brad Pitt. I'm more offended by the rumors saying I'm Scientologist.

That just might for him being in Matchbox 20.

A least Rob Thomas has good taste in men--IMO, Brad Pitt is much hotter than Tom Cruise.

How about a half-hearted defense of scientology? After all, scientology does contain nearly all of the word "science," which is an extremely authoritative word.

And let's face it: scientology is right on a couple of counts:

Number one, anyone that believes in psychiatry needs to have their head examined.

Number two, scientology may be a scam, and it may be a cult, but it is NOT a male hooker named Steve.

Ah yes. I need to have my head examined because I see a psychiatrist for treatment of chronic depression and take medication to keep me out of the place wherein suicide attempts lie. Better to turn to Scientology, where I will learn that an alien named Xenu gathered up all the overpopulation in this sector of the galaxy, brought them to Earth and then exterminated them using hydrogen bombs, causing the dispersed souls of the victims to infest the body of everyone via "body thetans". Better to audit out these body thetans telepathically by getting them to re-experience their being exterminated by hydrogen bombs than to consult an MD. Better to believe my bad thoughts and actions are due to body thetans influencing me mentally than to believe in serotonin levels and brain disfunction.
