28 DAYS IS NOT A ZOMBIE MOVIE!!
Comments
Both Dawn of the Dead's are excellent in their own ways ... the first though is not only one of the best zombie flix ever ... but one of the best horror movie's period.

I've Been getting my Zombie fix by reading The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman. It follows a hardy band of survivors in a world that's been Zombified. Its cool for two reasons:
1) nobody knows what the hell happened, and I don't think they're going to for awhile.
2) Its not a 2 hour movie. The time passage in the Graphic Novels is months, so we get to see what toll the stress of Zombies and the collapse of civilization has on the characters. good stuff.

I liked the Savini-directed Night of the Living Dead remake -- especially since it answered the question of "What if Barbara wasn't just a useless shellshocked screech monkey?"

I am so with you on that "28 Days Later" thing. Not a zombie movie.
I am conflicted over the Evil Dead Trilogy. But it rocks, so what the hell. "Army of Darkness" is one of my favorite movies ever.

Do Keanu Reeves movies count?

Why doesn't 28 Days Later count? Because they move too fast and have turned their back on the classic zombie traditions? I really liked it.

Because you have to actually die and come back to be a zombie.

I loved chopper chicks in zombie town. Best line, "You're a cycle slut, now act like it!"

"Wild Zero" is the finest zombie movie ever made. Also the best Rock n Roll movie ever made.
Make that "Lock n Loll".

"Because you have to actually die and come back to be a zombie."
That disqualifies "Serpent and the Rainbow", because the people are really only drugged and paralyzed to look dead, then enslaved.
The spider-on-the-face bit was really cool, though.

Versus is pretty damn entertaining. Zombies vs. Yakuza. What's not to love?

I totally disagree about 28 Days -- it is too a zombie movie! Especially, the beginning of the movie, when Sandra Bullock's character was still an alcoholic. She goes through life in a daze, she can't remember anything, she refuses to engage the people around her. Aside from the flesh eating business, she's very much like a zombie. And the movie also includes Steve Buschemi (whose gaunt features make him look like a zombie). I demand a retraction.
