Grooving on a Saturday Night

A little late for Carnival of the Playlists, but here's what I'm listening to right now.

The Winamp is on shuffle (just downloaded the EMP skin, by the way. I love it) and I'll give you the first 15 songs that come up, uh...my favorite song from that particular band, just for shits and giggles.

Life of Agony - Here I Am, Here I Stay (River Runs Red)
Deftones - Around the Fur (Mascara)
Tool - Intermission (H)
Beck - See Change (Soul Sucking Jerk)
Mindless Self Indulgence - Revenge (I Hate Jimmy Page)
Taproot - Like (I)
Vision of Disorder - Done In (Jada Bloom)
Crowbar - Planets Collide (Planets Collide!)
Black Label Society - Lost Heaven (Stillborn)
Hot Hot Heat - More For Show (Oh, Godamnit)
Portishead - Mysterons (It Could Be Sweet)
Brand New - I Will Play My Game Beneath The Spinlight (Soco Amaretto Lime)
Propaghandi - True (Anti-Manifesto)
Frank Zappa - Muffin Man (Joe's Garage)
Strapping Young Lad - Force Fed (Oh My Fucking God)

And there you have another installation of Blogging My Music Collection Because I Have Nothing Of Importance To Say.

I love "Digital Bath." You likee?

Joe's Garage. Holy mutha of all that is Zappiful, I haven't heard Joe's Garage in 20 years.

I did hear it live in 81. It wasn't bad.

fich mich, du miserable heurensohn

yeah. classy lyrics.

Catholic girls,
with their tiny little moustache,
Catholic girls,
do you know how they go?

I have that on vinyl, as the cool kids like to say.

You're an animal
You're a gawdamm f**in' animal!

Not Devin's best work...that's still Ocean Machine. But a heavy slab o' metal fo' sho'.

I haven't used WinAmp in years. Used RealPlayer until version 10 and it's sucked since then I've pretty much let my iTunes run all my music since we got the iPods.

"Muffin Man" is a GREAT song, with one of Zappa's best guitar solos, if I do say so myself.

"Goodnight, Austin, Texas, wherever you are!

More Strapping Young Lad

Craig - I love Digital Bath. It's a very sultry song.

Dave, I'll load up Joe's Garage for you today. Great memories attached to that one.

Timmer - I still love to use Winamp and my Yahoo station. I try to save the iPod for when I'm not at the computer, so I don't get sick of the songs. Though it's hard to get sick of 3,000 songs, I guess.

Johnny Bacardi hit the nail on the head...definitely one of Zappa's best guitar solo's. One of my favorite solo's by anyone really! I remember the days of listening to this song in a somewhat ummmm, altered state shall we say...heavy!!!

I hate to be "that guy," but "Muffin Man" actually first appeared on Bongo Fury rather than Joe's Garage, and was later collected on Strictly Commercial. Now, if you wanna talk some "Fembot in a Wet T-Shirt" or "Watermelon in Easter Hay," yummmm.
