idling/chicken

If it's Monday, it must be AI time. 8pm EST.

Also, Robot Chicken is the funniest thing I've seen in ages. I heart Seth Green.

Update: Bo - who I hated up until about twenty minutes ago - totally rocked my American Idol world tonight.

Anyone who pulls off "Whipping Post" on American Idol is ok on my list.

I hate to say it, but the boys beat the girls this year, hands down. Bo rocked, as did Mario.

I just watched Robot Chicken today, taped from a couple of nights ago.

"You got served, Voltron!"

"Voltron, represent!"

Go Bo! He's my home boy. A church that I drive by every day has a big Bo party when AI is on. They're calling themselves the Bice Squad. Yikes.

Bo was magic. He lost himself in the song. So much so that he'll be hard-pressed to ever top it again, I'm afraid.

God, I hope I'm wrong.

But tonight..oh, tonight he was so fine.

I hate to be the turd in the punch bowl, but Bo was....ok. I know this is the internet and anyone can say anything they want, but I kicked his ass on that song back in the day.

I'm always amazed by the comments from the panel. Constantine's performance was, well, embarrassing. As it happens, I've been listening to the Black Crowes' version for the last few days, and I've been overwhelmed by the great production, great playing from the band, and Chris Robinson's powerful vocal. Constantine sounded like a little kid compared to him. Not to mention flat as a pancake on a lot of notes, but they showered him with praise.

And then there's Travis. Jesus, if he sang a hundred notes, eighty of them were flat, and again they praised him. I don't get it.

And, Mr. Federov? GIANT balls to try a Lou Gramm tune, and he pulled it off. Amazing. I bow in his direction.

I normally don't watch AI past the initial stages when they show all the bad singers, but I did watch it tonight. I liked Mario, and Joe, and the Federov kid, as well. But I also liked Bo and Constantine. You may not have liked Constantine's performance, but you gotta give him credit for the guts it took to sing that song against the competition. It was a nice change of pace.
