There are some things from my childhood - like comic books or Razzles gum - that have maintained their appeal well into adulthood. Snow is not one of them.
Send spring. Please.

I still love snow. But then, I don't get it much here in Washington, so it's always sort of novel.
I also love spring, though. It's been sunny around here lately and I've been enjoying the hell out of it. Except when it shines in my eyes when I'm driving. Still, it's nice to be able to roll down the windows again.

Every year about this time, I start getting the bug. Even though we dont have snow here in Miami, when the weather starts to change, getting a little warmer, no rain in the afternoon like in the summer, I get antsy. I want to be outside, at the beach, by the pool, anywhere as long as it's outdoors. I cant imagine the cabin fever I would have if I lived where it snowed.

Some thoughts on spring, by wordsmiths who are undeniably better than myself:
If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant: if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome. -Anne Bradstreet
"Springtime is the land awakening. The March winds are the morning yawn." -Lewis Grizzard
... and perhaps my favorite of all:
"The nicest thing about the promise of spring is that sooner or later she'll have to keep it."

I'm sick of being COLD. I haven't even started hoping for Spring yet, because March always brings me down. I did naturalize crocuses last fall in my front lawn (after years of wanting to, I finally DID it)- so once I see those start coming up, I'll fall hard for Spring.

Razzles isn't gum, it's candy. Everyone knows that.

This is the first year since I moved back up here from Georgia that I've been anxious for Winter to be over. I got so sick of the heat down there that Winter was a blessed, all too short relief.
But this year. God. Despite the cold and snow, the skiing hasn't been that good, and my snowblower broke, and , and...
I just want it to be over. I want to play golf. I want to ride my motorcycle.

Didn't mind winter too much while we had the heated waterbed, but now that we got rid of the monstrosity, the cold sheets are too cold! (though the new bed is BETTER!)
Childhood favorite...grew up in California (now in Ohio), snow was at Grandpa's house!
Zotz were the best...

Oh, man, Razzles.
Michele, you make me remember EVERYthing.
I loved Razzles.
Jawbreakers, too. The little ones.

I just finished reading the "BJ haiku" submissions, and scroll up...
"Sick of the white stuff"?
OH, oh, snow. Nevermind.
