programming note
I had finally finished up what I was doing at work when my husband called to warn that the cable modem at home is out. Damn that evil, blinking light. They're going to try to get someone over to look at it before 6pm, but I find that scenario rather unlikely. So, if emails go unanswered and my daily blogging instructions from Karl Rove go unheeded, that's why.
It's always good to share this information with the readers, because the more you know, the more you know.
Apropos of nothing, The ABC After School Specials are being released on DVD.

call the support line, they'll tell you to pwoer down everything, unplug everything, count to 5 and then start plugging and powering, starting with the modem, then router (if applicable). Always seems to work.

You have Cablevision, right?
Down here, if I go out and pull the pedestal cover off (we have underground wiring), wiggle the wires, and cover up again - then go wiggle the wires where they enter the house it clears up.
Really. I am a systems person for a living, and I can't explain it.

you are so lucky to have cablevision (at least when it comes to customer service). time warner sucks. my cable modem just went out last night (sept 26th) and they told me no one could come out to see what was wrong till oct. 4th.
can someone tell me why they suck dick?
nevermind. i'll just call them and have some fun yelling at a manager. hehehe. twcnyc better watch out, i'm in a shitty mood today.
