Confession: I love the nightlife, I love to boogie
Ok, I'll admit it. I like the Bee Gees. And once or twice I was video taped dancing to Funky Town. But I was always drunk when that happened. Except when I secretly danced in my room.
But yea, I like the Bee Gees. But disco still sucks!
And maybe that Saturday Night Fever soundtrack wasn't so bad.
Maybe.

For some reason, I have a clear image of you in your room circa 1983, door locked, hairbrush in hand, singing along to "Hit Me With Your Best Shot." Especially the "fire awaaaay" part. I can see you really getting into that.
Yes, I do realize this is the second Benatar connection I've tried to force on you in as many weeks. No, I have no explanation.

Please advise when the aforementioned Funky Town video tape will be available for purchase.
Thank you for your consideration.

oh, hell, what's a wedding reception without the DJ playing "Y.M.C.A." to get the half drunk guests up on their feet and dancing like maniacs!

Y.M.C.A? Here, it's the chicken dance song (http://www.kiddyhouse.com/Farm/Chicken/Chickensong.html) - Minnesota is only 15 miles away and I think in that state its part of the marriage license that if it isn't played at the wedding dance, then the marriage isn't valid.
On this I am completely serious - if you know someone from Minnesota or eastern South Dakota, ask them if they ever heard it at a wedding dance. 90% of them will have heard it and can do the dance.

There is a reason the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack sells so well even to this day.
Even though disco does suck anyway. :-)

Minor point of clarification. Assuming your title is a reference to Alicia Bridges' song, the lyric is "I love the nightlife, I've got to boogie".

Headzero, we did the Chicken Dance at our wedding reception. It's very popular in some parts of the deep south as well.

I had made it through some 28 years of my life WITHOUT experiencing the Chicken Dance.
And I didn't move south; I went to Pennsylvania...
