Vice President: Gephardt Dewey Defeats Truman

Update: Looks like the Post is going to have a bit of egg on its face this morning. nypostkerry.bmp That's the NY Post Scoop of the Day. Should we believe it? It's unlikely a paper as big as the post would risk it all by printing a cover like that without being pretty sure. Kerry is supposed to announce at 9am (EST). If you've got some last minute prognostications or thoughts on the subject, now is the time to spit them out so you can appear to be astute and prescient later on. Also, let's go with the Gephardt announcement. Good, bad or indifferent? That's pretty much moot now. [Post story via Michelle Malkin] Update: Fox News is citing reliable sources say that the pick will be Edwards. Live coverage of Kerry/Edwards at Command Post.

So its official. Kerry's running mate will be John Edwards. Apparently the New York Post didn't get the memo (via ASV): Who the VP candidate is doesn't make a lick of difference to me. Kerry's still on the top of... [Read More]

» Haha! from Maladjusted
It looks like John Kerry has picked John Edwards to be his running mate. I like both guys, so this is a really good thing. But then again, Kerry could have picked a gorilla to be his running mate and I would have stilled voted for him. That said, it... [Read More]

It's a lot less intriguing than, say, Kerry/Byrd.

But folks should think back to all the enthusiasm Democrats showed for Gephardt during the waning days of the Iowa campaign. It was surprisingly absent - and that fact may have gotten lost in the hubub over Howard Dean's "I Have A Scream" speech.

7:30 AM, Fox News is saying their sources say Edwards.

Revel in it boys and girls, this is about as much excitement as the Kerry campaign will generate all year...

It really is 6 of one and a half-dozen of another; there isn't a good choice for president running for either party!

I think Edwards would be a better pick, and a better chance at pulling in the younger swing voters to the Kerry camp.

Well, looks like someone is going to have a "Dewey Defeats Truman" moment today. Fox and CNN both have "Kerry Picks Edwards" on their front pages....

The NYTimes is saying Edwards, too...

NBC News: Edwards

Egg on the face of the Post? It looks that way, I just got a BBC news alert that says it is Edwards.

Today Show just confirmed the Edwards pick, too.

Will be interesting. I think Edwards is a good move but I beleive it when I here it from Kerry.

News can either be fast or accurate.
Never both.

Edwards. Interesting.

Just what DC needs, another trial lawyer, and a pi one at that.

Now all we need is for Edwards to suddenly start channeling Dan Quayle and this should make for an interesting run.

I'm actually more surprised that Edwards accepted but

If Kerry loses, does Edwards return to the Senate? Can Edwards run for his Senate seat & president?

Oh and on the NY Post web site, you can't find the front page anywhere. hahah.

Ack! Didn't see that you used that headline before I did.
