not the end of the world!

Hey, check it out! The sun is still hanging in the sky. No tidal waves, earthquakes or massive fires. Looks like we can finally cross gay people getting married off of the list of things people think will bring on armageddon. Congratulations and best wishes to all the happy couples. Update: People are fucking assholes, down to almost the very last one of you. The comments on this post are not only closed, they have been removed.

its a great day for human rights today
a great day
and to all the nay-sayers who thought
a time of war was not the time to fight for equal rights
i point to the great ladies who fought for the right of all women to vote
during WW1

I was really confused this morning when all of a sudden my dad took up polygamy, marrying his friend Dave and daves pet goat. But it all makes perfect sense now.

A lot of things that were not the end of the world didn't turn out all that well. Prohibition wasn't the end of the world, either, to give an uncontroversial example. Ethanol subsidies aren't the end of the world. Come to think of it, not having same-sex marriage for the past 5,000 years or so wasn't the end of the world. Not all of us who are opposed are doing the "End is Near" act over this.

I didn't say everyone was, Crank.

Why do people always do that?

Yeah, but now I'll have to acquire a funny accent and deal with lots of snow if I want to marry my Nerdstar.

Excuse me, but God didn't destroy Sodom until He removed his people. Just wait and see what happens after the Rapture!!!!

Now the Red Sox will win the World Series for certain!

Yay, multiculturalism!

Help me out. Did anyone predict that the world was going to end today? If not, what's your point?

Yay, Allah is back!

I hope that the creator of worlds is doing well and that blogging inspiration will strike soon.

cats and dogs, living together...

I was in line at my credit union today, where they have TVs suspended from the ceiling to watch while you wait. The gay marriage news came and an old-timer a couple tellers down said, "A woman just carried a woman over the threshold! That's just silly... Silly!"

I'm with you, old guy.

That said, gay adoption is more of a concern for me than gay marriage. I'm sorry, two dads or two moms just would not be the same.

Allah! Hitting refresh nonstop in the house... Hope things are better or heading that way.

Now A-Rod and Jeter can sneak up to Mass and get hitched the next time the Yankees play at home. Oh Joy!

Oh, and someone let me know when Rosie's finished "weighing in" on the issue so I can return to watching TV.

Kerry ducked out of town and did not refer to gay marriage in his remarks on the 50th anniversary of Brown.

The heck with marriage; I'm waiting for the first Gay Divorce. (No accent on the "e".)
