So what was it?

Jeebiss! The suspense is killing me. Something that WHAT???

gently but firmly gripped the sides of my head...

"Dive, DIVE" yelled the captain through the thing. So the man who makes it dive pushed a button, or something, and it DOVE!

Over here in Los Angeles, the hyperventilating is going on and on about The Storm of the Century hitting the hapless LA drivers. Oh, and this morning, some moron decided to climb outside of a freeway overpass threaten to jump (thus closing 210 freeway for 4 hours).

There is something so glorious about the advent of Spring Training and everything that it implies - not even George Steinbrenner can tarnish that feeling...
