I'm going to stop being an ass, now

I've already said as much in other people's comments, but I'll say it here as well. I'm putting a moratorium on the A-Rod gloating posts. The thing is, I don't even like the guy all that much. I think he's just another in a long line of money-hungry (how can a guy who makes that much still be money hungry?) players who don't give a crap about the fans or the integrity of the game. I think it's going to be an interesting mix in the locker room come spring. I'm going to be miss Soriano, I'm a big fan of his. And Edward tells me that there are rumors Soriano may get traded to Boston. It would break my heart to see him in a Sox uniform. Yea, this is a good deal for the Yanks overall. It will be a better deal if Jeter steps up like a man and says he'll make the switch to third instead of making A Rod play third. It's not like Jeter is the world's greatest shortstop to begin with. So, I'm done with the gloating. It's probably going to come back to bite me in the ass eventually, anyhow. I hope Allah still loves me.

WFAN is reporting that Jeter said something to the likes of "as long as I get to play short, it's fine".

Well, I agree. Soriano will be missed. Although if he does show up in Bawston at least the Yankees know how to get him out...just throw him anything off-speed and breaking away from the plate.

Actually, I was hoping the Yanks would figure out a way to really piss people off and get Soriano back as well, before the end of the year.

So now the Yankees have 2 of the 3 best shortstops in MLB. Are they going to rotate playing days, flip a coin before the game or just duke it out to see who keeps his position?

I don't get it. Steinbrenner lost last year's WS with a huge team payroll to a team with kids and slightly above average players. I think the Yankee infield payroll alone was more than the Marlins entire payroll.

What happens this year if the Yankees dont win the World Series? Who will he get for next year?

The ARod acquisition is great for Yankees, bad for baseball. Theres a shitload of AL teams out there just struggling to stay alive, meanwhile, Steinbrenner keeps dishing out more and more cash each year. Might as well just forget the season for all American League teams and just hand over the pennant to the Yankees in the spring. Then they can all sit back and watch the National league games to see who theyll be playing against in the WS.

Jeter won't move to 3rd I don't think. My understanding is that the deal wasn't made until he signed off on it, and he wouldn't unless he was promised SS. The only way I see A-Rod at short is if Jeter goes down again. If that happens, they'll move A-Rod over, and who knows what would happen when Jeter came back. That said, I don't think it matters much either way. A-Rod's bat is where he's the most better than Jeter. Fielding it's a wash. Jeter won't make a lot of errors, and whether he's at third or not, he's gonna add 40 HRs and 130 RBI to a team that already had a lot of both. You factor in Sheffield and Giambi and you're looking at a team that might score 1000 runs this year. Even with average pitching, they'll be a great team and fun to watch. Well fun if you're a fan. It's gonna suck for the rest of us. I say gloat all you want, Michele.
