I'll be with you eventually
I should have known when I woke this morning singing The Lion Sleeps Tonight that I was in a for a bad day. Or maybe I should have know at 4am when I woke from a dream in which John Kerry morphed into the Michelin Man and was chasing me through the butterfly tent at the Bronx Zoo.
A wimoweh, a-wimoweh a-wimoweh, a wimoweh
Make it stop. Please.
Update: Dodd woke up with Air Supply in his head. He says that like it's a bad thing.

I prefer They Might Be Giants' version.

I can't get Al Stewart's "Time Passages" out of my head. It's been two weeks now.
Please kill me. Please.

I had a girlfriend once who always woke up with Air Supply in her head :)
heh.
My worst? Waking up with "Strawberry Fields Forever" in my head one day. I don't LIKE the Beatles. And I DETEST that song. It was a bad day.
I ended up driving it out by playing "Rainbow in the Dark" over and over until it went away. Then I woke up with that song in my head the next day ... which wasn't a bad thing.

hmm well i dunno. I think i've got one over on you, as this morning it was the shiny, happy Shania Twain in my head (erk) singing about being a woman. That stupid hook. I hate that song.
heeelp. meeeee.

Hmmm...this seems to have become a thread on irksome tunes that nevertheless stick in your head -- all day. Why not? I'll play. "Give it Away" by the Redhot Chilipeppers. MAKE...IT...STOP!!

"The Lion Sleeps Tonight" -- ? "Lost In Love" -- ? You call that suffering? Try dealing with The Pipkin's "Gimme Dat Ding" echoing through your skull for twelve hours straight, and you'll get some sympathy.

Current song in my head: Thomas Dolby's "She Blinded Me With Science." Much better than "It's a Small World", which, I hope we can all agree, would probably require resorting to suicide if it lasted more than about 30 seconds.

I've had the Doors' "Running Blues" in my head for a few days now. It's not bad, but if I could at least play the fiddle, I might be able to exorcise it.

I've heard that the cure for "It's a Small World" is to think of "The Girl from Ipanema". Cure worse than the disease? You decide.

Whenever I hear anyone refer to "Girl from Ipanema," the B52's' "Girl from Ipanema Goes to Greenland" inevitably invades my skull. I don't consider this a bad thing -- I like the tune. Just -- ya know -- wondering what this says about me -- probably nothing. Nevermind.
