repeat after me
1,000 times.
I will not let my daughter drag me into the vortex of American Idol this season.
I will not let my daughter drag me into the vortex of American Idol this season.
I will not let my daughter drag me into the vortex of American Idol this season.
I will not let my daughter drag me into the vortex of American Idol this season.
I will not let my daughter drag me into the vortex of American Idol this season.
I will not let my daughter drag me into the vortex of American Idol this season.
I will not let my daughter drag me into the vortex of American Idol this season.
ad infinitum
save me, jeebus!

I like the first few episodes, I love to watch Simon crush people's dreams.

Resistance is futile.
This year's is already better than last year's Michele.
Come on. Just a little taste. It won't hurt ya.

I agree with Bill. Watching Simon cut down those deluded souls on the first few episodes is highly entertaining.

Last year, I watched the first three episodes, with all the auditions and cuts, and then I watched the final episodes. Clay-mania is super big here in Raleigh where I just moved, so things were a little more whacky than usual.
(while passing a television in a store last night, I saw an ad for a Stephen King miniseries, and heard the tale end about "spine tingling fear" or some such advertising nonsense. But I assumed instead it was an ad for the first American Idol episode.)
