Iiiiiii'm dreaming of an Orange Christmas.
Just like the ones I've never known
where the treetops glisten
and children listen
to hear suicide bombers in the snow...
Iiiii'm dreaming of an Orange Christmas.
With every bomb threat that I write
May your days be harried with fright (and fright)
and may all your Christmases be orange...
I work in NYC which has been on a constant Orange since 9/11. After a while you get used to seeing the guys with the Uzi's and occasionally thinking you see a sniper on the roof of the buildings near by.
All you can do is go about and try to live as best as can. If its my time then so be it.
Comments
Back when they first introduced the color alert system, it was raised to high so many times, it got to be a joke.
With the government now more cautious about when they raise the level, this raise seems to be more serious.

One guy I know had a humorous scale using fruit. Then he changed it to Muppet characters. Not as funny.

It went to Orange a lot, but never Red. I decided that if it got to Red I'd start worrying.
