Makes you wonder if Sen. Byrd would pass the modern-day initiation, like he did in the '40s.

...shot with paintball guns as Freeman fired a pistol in the air...
What if they got their pistols mixed up, and reversed their roles? Hey, someone has to ask the delightful...er, I mean hard questions.

Shame on you Michele, you shouldn't make light of tragedies like that.
Where's the tradegy? Only one of them got killed.

"I'm sorry, but no matter how I feel about the Klan, I just cannot find anything remotely funny about a man getting shot and nearly killed."
Whoops, wrong post there. Sorry.

What dumbasses.
Let's see if the folks from ANSWER/CAIR/ et al follow up with any similar initiation rites.

I hate that Nazi bitch! Ann Coulter is going to get caught with her pants down one of these days and I can't wait to be there to see her go down in flames. Did I mention that she is a Nazi bitch?

"What I wanna know is - what exactly were CHILDREN doing there?!!"
Yeah, it's hard to believe any self-respecting KKK member would ever want kids to be indoctrinated into KKK ideology.

{donning superiority hat} Actually Darwin would not be pleased. The injury was sustained by someone other than the one committing the stupid act. In addition, neither was removed from the gene pool, though hopefully the young man that was injured comes to his senses and leaves the Klan.

Can you spray birth control from airplanes? We used to go hunting for KKK yahoos here in Oklahoma but the only thing we ever found was a bunch of Satanists sacrificing some housepets. Too bad the KKK and the Satanists don't fight eachother for the same clearing. Now that would help the gene pool. Maybe even invite the DU people.

Trying to join the Klan is a stupid act, which nearly got the guy killed. Had that mission succeeded, the shooter could have ended up in prison for murder, thereby preventing both idiots from reproducing. As it stands, the shooter will probably face lesser charges, which will make his absence from the gene pool more transient in nature. A small victory, if you will.

As much as I enjoy seeing Klansmen injured, I really think this is not as the story says. I know a little about ballistics (much less than I should) and a little about physics (again, much less than I should). I doubt the terminal velocity of a falling pistol bullet could penetrate the top of a skull, much less top and bottom. I suspect the gun was not fired "into the air".
Not that I'm complaining aboutthe guy being injured. Whatever works.
