Was anyone else listening to Sean Hannity's radio show today when he got a call from Marc Summers? Hannity was a complete and absolute jerk.

I think he's morphing into Bill O'Reilly. And that is not a compliment.

I think your sentence is too long. Try this instead:

Was anyone else listening to Sean Hannity's radio show today?

I wasn't. I haven't - ever. And I probably never will. I did get to hear Rush talk the addict talk today, and that was worth something.

Thanks for the grammar lesson, anonymous, but I didn't want to know if anyone was listening to Hannity's show in general. I wanted to know if anyone was listening specifically when Marc Summers called.

Dick.

Why was Marc Summers calling Hannity btw?

Who's Sean Hannity?

Steve, he was just calling like a regular listener.

Well? What happened?!?!

He was just a complete ass to Summers, didn't let him get a word in edgewise, assumed a million things about him, made fun of his Food Network show, accused Summers of calling him just to get his name on the air to get viewers to his show (Unwrapped, which is a top rated cable show) and was ridiculously condescending.

That's about it in a nutshell.

I'll give him a pass, he seemed to be in a generally pissy mood all day today. Everyone has days like that.

You just don't like Hannity because you want to blow Alan Colmes.

Just because it rhymes with Holmes, doesn't mean he resembles him IN ANY WAY!

Marc Summers is no relation, far as I know.

If he was just a regular caller, Hannity is just being a jag...I guess I just don't understand why Marc Summers would call a right-wing talk show though...

Summers said he listens to Hannity every day.

Ummm. It was me. I wrote the first comment. I thought I'd typed my name.

Seriously, you didn't leave any clue about what the problem was. And I still don't care to listen to Hannity.

O'Reilly is a fat cockring. And I'm being generous. Just felt like saying that.

Hannity is an idiot masquerading as a light-weight.

geez, Michele. Where do these people come from? I can say that, I have listened to Hannity in the past and have generally liked him. I didn't hear the exchange with Summers but it doesn't surprise me. I've found Hannity increasingly boorish and difficult to listen to as time has gone on. That and hes actually gotten really boring. Try Glenn Beck as an alternative. Hes more your style. :)

Michele,

Not having heard the exchange, let me ask a few questions.

1- Did Marc Summers identify himself as "Marc Summers", or did Hannity?

2- Was Summers trying to comment on whatever Hannity was talking about?

The reason I ask is that I can tell you firsthand that sometimes people with agendas call in and want to use their two or three minutes on the air to shill for whatever their particular cause might be. It does get old after awhile, especially if you've had two or three such calls in a day.

Sean is great. If he was impolite, it was probably because the caller was being a jerk. I have never heard of this Marc Sunmmer guy, but that is probably because I am neither a "metrosexual" nor a "Pussified American Male".

Do any of you negative commentors realize just how popular Sean is? I am always amazed at how out of touch the "War on Terror" conservatives are with middle America.

Sorry Michele - you are a sweetie - but you are a liberal.

It's better than a small cock-ring, that's for sure.

I don't know how you can rag on a guy with serious OCD who managed for years to host Double Dare, one of my favorite shows as a kid. Hannity just went down a couple more notches in my book, if that's possible.

RWT - I'm a liberal because I thought Hannity was out of line? That's a pretty big leap.

Cam - Summers only said something about being "in the industry" because the topic at hand had to do with that. Hannity kept asking him what his job was until Summers finally relented and said he hosts a TV show. Summers also tried to explain to Hannity that what show he hosted was irrelavant to the conversation, but Hannity persisted. Apparently, someone at the station clued Sean in on who Summers is and that's when he started making fun of him for hosting Double Dare years ago and for hosting Unwrapped.

I see. Well, that's not exactly how I would have handled it... but then again, I'm not exactly the second biggest talk show host in America. :)

We all make mistakes on the air sometimes, and for the most part I think Hannity is pretty nice to the callers. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on this one, but you're right about one thing. The world does not need another O'Reilly.

"Summers says he listens to Hannity every day". Uh huh. So then when he asked Sean a pissy question which HE would have known if he "listens every day" (something he admitted to really not doing) he already knew the answer.

Don't think much of Hannity, but Summers, and i have no idea who he is, was calling to be a prick and pick a fight and when he got one, scurried away shocked (SHOCKED) that Sean could be so mean.

Sean sucks, but Summers is a pussy.

Whatever.

The world does not need another O'Reilly.

Cam, get ready for people to demand, "What do you mean 'another'?"

Marc Summers was a jerk and Hannity defended himself accordingly. Funny thing is that I watched Marc Summers all the time at age 5.

Fascinating comments.

I am glad to know that rudeness is now considered part of being a real man. Being polite is for pussies! And "liberals"!

Personally, I think both were out of line. I do not think Sean Hannity is anything like Rush Limbaugh, either in personal style or the format of the show. Hannity usually has guests who he either talks to or interrogates but Rush usually just has himself. Yes, he has had guests but usually it is him alone. Summers was being a jerk, regardless of his point(which was wrong).

I wanted to hear the exchange between Hannity and that Professor from Long Island. Too bad I had to crash.

Sorry I missed the exchange. Sean can be quite abrassive but at least he tells it like it is and does make it all pretty and what we want to hear. I personally love Unwrapped.
All you liberals should open your mind and stop being so bitter and maybe you would learn a thing or 2 from Sean and Rush. Most that I speak to or listen to are so angry, but you are not sure at what. Republicans actually want to give America back to you but for some that is so hard to see.
PS Sean is not the #2 talk show, Dr. Laura is #2, Rush is #1.
I will say Sean and Rush can be a bit boorish and abrasive. They need to soften a little.

I was listening and . . .
first clue was marc summers being entirely off the topic and blasting right into Hannity for being a Rush knock-off when anyone who listens to both shows together knows good and well the formats are completely different.

second when you are listening this much you recognize these types of callers on Rush and Hannity's shows, its funny exchange because they call in with pre-formulated questions

Fuck Sean hannity and Bill Oreilly they both suck ass.FUCKEM

BTW, Marc Summers called into Sean Hannity's show again 2 days later (11/19) and apologized profusely for coming out swinging on that first call, even admitting to voting Republican and for McClintock in CA's most recent gubernatorial election.

(As a game show fan, I'd always thought Marc to be more on the conservative side after seeing a Family Double Dare ep where he followed a question about Dan Quayle w/the line "No Quayle jokes")

What bugged me was Mark Levin's call during Marc's battle w/Hannity...he proceeded to ask Marc about his OCD and then muse as to whether or not he was "obsessing" over Hannity.

Talk about a cheap shot...calling someone a liberal, etc's one thing, but Levin's attack was akin to him telling an amputee who was going after Hannity "You know why your arguments don't hold up? Because you don't have a leg to stand on!".

Well, what was worse was when Marc Summers called to apologize the day after. He was stumbling over himself, apologizing, denigrating his own behavior, extolling the virtues of Hannity, to the point where Hannity actually asked him to stop - it was that sickening.

As a conservative, I don't think Hannity (or O'Reilly) helps the cause much. Rather than take the time to shred the faulty logic inherent in liberalism, they attack the person directly, and use red herring ultimatum questions.

That's why Rush, drugs or no drugs, rules. He lets libs expose the faults in their own ideas by simply letting them talk.
