It was in the 30's when I got up this morning. There was a thick layer of frost on my car, thick enough that I could make a faux snowball with it. This is October 6th on Long Island. It shouldn't be this cold.
And now, the leaves are going straight from summer green to shitty brown. If this weather keeps up, the beauty of fall foilage will escape me.
Global warming, my ass.

I blame it on George W. Bush

Now might not be a good time to mention that it is going to be in the high 70's and low 80's out here for a while...

Oh, don't get me wrong, I love this weather. Anything below 80 is absolute heaven. It's just too damn early to be turning the heat on, and I am going to hunt down Mother Nature if I don't get to see some orange and red on the trees this year.

There is a very, very simple explanation.
Hell is beginning to freeze over.
GO CUBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its probably going to be close to 90 here today, and sadly, there is no fall change of colors here in Miami. Its alway green. Green green green. Everywhere.

Funny thing is; we've been in a global warming trend since around 1400AD. Before that, we'd been in a global cooling trend since (estimated) about 300-400AD.
You'd think that after 603 years, we'd be getting used to the idea.
Atlanta has shot back up to the 80's, after a week of wonderous coolnees. sigh Back to summer, again.

Michele, you can take solace in the fact that a bona fide Indian Summer is approaching as we speak. It's going to push 70 this week all the way up north in Syracuse.
Weather.com shows the same for your neck of the woods. Mid to upper 60s is perfect weather in my opinion!

Yes, I think Sandy hit the nail on the head here. If you hadn't been so busy scraping your windshield, you would have noticed the close order formations of pigs doing an overflight of the greater NYC metro area...
CUBS WIN! CUBS WIN!
Now the big debate is between whether or not I wanna see Steinbrenner cry and then fire a manager, or see Sammy put some baseballs over the big green monster.
Tough choices.

Twins lose in three.
In unrelated news, the forecast calls for highs in the mid-to-upper eighties by Wednesday in Minneapolis.
Would've loved to see the Twins advance, but I'll settle for being able to grill outside every day this week.

Correction. Twins lose in four. Doesn't matter how many games it took, really, since the end result is the same.

What part of L.I.? That's were I grew up, but you are right, it should not be that cold there now. :(
