YAY! Finally!
After three hours of listening to Netscape Radio, Sister Christian has finally come on!
I am singing so loud I may wake the action figures.
I don't know what it is about this song.
And I am not ashamed of loving it. I think I have referenced this song more times than any other since I've been blogging.
Sister Christian
Oh, the time has come
And you know
That you're the only one to say
Okay
Where you going
What you looking for
You know those boys
Don't want to play no more
With you
It's true
CHORUS
You're motoring
What's your price for flight
In finding mister right
You'll be all right tonight
Babe, you know
You're growing up so fast
Mommy's worrying
That you won't last to say
Let's play
Sister Christian
There's so much in life
Don't you give it up
Before your time is due
It's true
Motoring
What's your price for flight
You've got him in your sights
And driving through the night
Motoring
What's your price for flight
In finding mister right
You'll be all right tonight
Sister Christian
Oh, the time has come
And you know
That you're the only one to say
Okay
But you're motoring
You're motoring

Hell, that was the song I was gonna submit for cheesiest lyrics. Terrible Ted and Tommy Shaw both gave Jack Blades shit about it when they were playing together.

(The Bangles version of course)
Time, time, time
See what's become of me
Time, time, time, see what's become of me
While I looked around for my possibilities
I was so hard to please
Look around, leaves are brown
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter
Hear the Salvation Army Band
Down by the riverside, it's bound to be a better ride
Than what you've got planned, carry a cup in your hand
Look around, leaves are brown
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter
Hang onto your hopes, my friend
That's an easy thing to say but if your hopes should pass away
Simply pretend that you can build them again
Look around, grass is high
Fields are ripe, it's the springtime of my life
Seasons change with their scenery
Weaving time in a tapestry
Won't you stop and remember me
Look around, leaves are brown
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter
Look around, leaves are brown
There's a patch of snow on the ground
Look around, leaves are brown
There's a patch of snow on the ground
Look around, leaves are brown
There's a patch of snow on the ground

When I was managing a record store in Santa Rosa, Jack Blades used to come in every couple of weeks, sometimes him and the asshole guitarist (forget his name).
Blades was a really nice guy, very sharp and always fun to talk to, but the guitarist was a butthead.

Jonathan,
That Bangles track is a cover of a Simon & Garfunkel original produced for the soundtrack of 'Less Than Zero.'
A vastly better song. "Sister Christian" was a cringe inducer from the moment it first hit the airwaves.
