I've always been puzzled by this one:
"Your call may be recorded for training purposes. Please tell your service representative if you have a concern."

I have many "concerns," none of them relating to whether or not SDG&E (the utility co. down here in San Diego) wants to use my call to train their worker bees.
But just to be mean and to see what would happen, I've always wanted to tell the operator, "You know, I have a CONCERN. I'm really concerned about those UN black helicopters. What should I DO?"

I always want to go ghetto on them and say "Bitch, whachu recordin' dis fo? Youz jes gawn tell me ta pay da damn bill, aiite?"

Or something like that.

Pearl, obviously we need to quit calling SDG&E at the same time.

Sigh. The advantages of never needing to call customer service.

As a customer service rep, I remind you that being cruel to phone reps is akin to kicking kitties. you may hate the company, but remember - there are real people on the other end, who are not personally responsible for whatever woes have been inflicted on you.

we're usually as pissed off with the company as you are, so we're already on your side as long as you are nice.
