have a crustacean christmas?
Christmas Hell TIPster Batgirl has outdone herself and everyone else by directing me to this picture of a Cajun Christmas.
I dare any of you to find anything more absurd than that. It defies even a caption.

Now, I understand that Santa, as a sentient human, can harness the reindeer and use them to pull the sleigh. But this doesn't make any sense. Is the crawfish in the sleigh some sort of overlord, a Supercrawfish? How come he gets to sit back and make the others do the work? Do the sleigh-pullers enjoy this or are they slaves to the Crawmaster? Makes no sense at all.

Please read my Christmas Offering, The Cajun Night Before Christmas. It's bizarre, but very popular back home.

Vicky-
Yeah! I love that book! I've had a copy of it since I was knee-high to a grasshopper.
(and it was exactly what I was thinking of when i saw the Craw-sleigh picture)

that is hilarious. i would even venture to say that it's so bizarre, it's not even tacky. the crawfish pulling the sleigh look like little pink armadillos.

It's the Christmas crawdads! I want it. Our neighbors would go insane. That would teach 'em to call our landlord and complain about where we park in our own driveway.

Never surrender!
That IS an awesome photo, though . . . I still liked our image of Jesus and Mary looking on the Christmas Seal . . .

Yes I too thought the mini shrimp/crawdads looked like armadillos!
I love it when people do weird shit like this, it really makes my day.
Oh and this is deep in the heart of Cajun country, in Louisiana. And the family whose yard this is, I think, owns the place that sells fresh shrimp just down the road a piece.
