I think it was a scam.

He posted a "goodbye" message, saying he can't post without the extra $50 a month and he wouldn't continue with the blog anymore.

Lots of people donated 10, 20, 50, dollars mainly via PayPal, and a few hours later, the problem was "fixed".

Sorry, but I'm a bit skeptical.

I pointed this out to him, and he didn't even address that concern and simply banned my comments by IP. He also lied and said another person criticizing him (a certain Andrew) and I were the same person because we had the same IP. That's highly unlikely, I asked him to post my IP and Andrews and prove it. He won't do that either.

I'm sorry, but I have lost all respect for Bill Quick. I like to read warblogs, but that doesn't mean I turn off my skepticism and mind in situations like this. He probably did have a problem with the popup ads, but why won't he clarify things instead of DELETING posts and banning by IPs.

littlegreenfootballs gets people who disagree and troll all the time, but they are dealt with ARGUMENTS, why can't Bill Quick do the same?

I called you an idiot over at Bill's, what makes you think I won't do it here?

For your information, Bill wrote an email to every person who donated money to him and offered to return their money.

Respect? Do you think Bill really cares if he has your respect? You're an antagonistic comment troll who probably doesn't have the intelligence of a freaking stop sign, let alone the intelligence that Bill has.

Where's your weblog? I don't see you putting yourself out there every day so people can ridicule your beliefs and call you names.

1. I need a weblog to post my opinions? Is that a new requirement?

2. Where did I 'ridicule the beliefs' of Bill Quick?

3. Where did I 'call Bill Quick names'?

As I remember it correctly and you can verify on his comment section, it was some of DailyPundit's readers and Bill Quick that were /are doing the name calling.

I don't read minds, so BQ should have posted something about emails on returning the money.

I still thinks it's pretty fishy, and that losing $50 a month makes posting not worth it. Specially when this is a "warblogger" and we have service men and women enduring many more sacrifices today, and here we have somebody whining about $50 a month. Ridiculous!
